Thank god we never went for Gordon Smith. As for Fowler I think its a great choice, great to see the club progressing. Gordon Sevconian Smith should never be allowed near this club ever again. He showed his true colours more than once over the past few years, he has sod all respect for us and zero affection. Absolute zombie apologist. Fowler knows the club, fans and hopefully what Killie is about, and he is current. McDonald no thanks,.not been overly impressed with the youth set up as it is just now. Aand the Italian guy might've been great, but in this role I think you need to know the club and the market and constraints in and under which we would operate in, which I doubt he would have. Fowler.give the role a link to the fans as well.
mackpomm
It's almost romantic, local hero, high hopes, personable and professional. A great percentage play by the board. He's the one that didnae get away. Not a dry eye in the house. Everybody's mother-in-law should be happy. Isn't this what dreams are sometimes made from?
Scooby_Doo
Gutted. Saw the headline 'James Fowler' and thought 'Magic - nae centre backs, Dicker to centre back, BeckenFowler back at no. 4, back in business' Director of Football Operations. Pfft. He used to do that from the centre circle.

carpetfitter
Of our current squad who played with James? By my reckoning only Rory who also took over the ‘fuxache’ ‘he’ll no dae’ ‘get him aff [insert managers surname]’ mantle. -

Not sure he played with all three but he will know Kiltie, Wilson, Frizzell from assisting with the youth setup when he was playing with us.

Fowler the first of 7 right backs I've heard.

MrTumnus
Great to see my favourite player back. Left too soon, easily had another season in him. I need to watch his 'Billy's Boots' goal (old Tiger fans will know what I'm referring to) against Ceptic in the 3:3 draw again now.

piffer
Do we currently have a head of recruitment in place? If not is this a role Fowler will take on or be classed with finding someone for?

Searching for players head of recruitment or searching for club staff head of recruitment? Did we ever replace the guy Clarke was using. Most other fans would read this and think 'great appointment'...not certain killie fans tho. Have none of you ever applied for a role further up the career ladder? Spot on, the reaction to this from some is laughable

PrestersKtid
Seems a sensible appointment. Had experience at various different levels of football, will have seen a tonne of players whilst in England. Should settle in quicker than most and young enough that he could be here for the long haul.
Killie alan
Hope he does and people get off his back and let him get on with his job. People should be supporting him not slagging him off.
killie89
Time will tell whether or not it’s a good appointment, but my initial instinct says it will be. Certainly the best of the names suggested. No idea how anybody could even consider Gordon Smith for a role at Killie given some of his recent remarks.
Popular Post Sp3ckyh0td0g81
2 weeks ago i was heading into the club shop around 10am on a Friday Morning and Gordon Smith rolled up in a wee Renault Clio, suited and booted, wondered what the rat was up too. I hope he was going in for an interview that he didnt end up being successful in. Complete melt of a man
