Old Firm game

Embarrassing from BT. Coverage has been on from 9 in the morning until I think 6 tonight. Tuned in a bit before and its basically just old firm loving. I know they are the teams with the biggest fan base but a bit of a slap in the face for all the other teams

I'm usually critical over media coverage of our game but it was an old firm final so I wouldn't have really expected anything other than old firm love in. Don't really get the issue today?

LOL:

Hard not to feel schadenfreude over this one!

For Morelos too....he missed a barrowload.

If you were them, you would feel SOOOO gutted. Hopefully administration beckons again soon too...

I don't like seeing the other team win either btw - real moral dilemma.

When I was a young chap in the 1980s early 90s, not uncommon for the Scottish or fa Cup final coverage to start at 11 or 12.

We are always moaning about about the lack of coverage about the Scottish game. I know it's the old firm and we despise them, but fair play I say to BT

Ludicrous argument:

Fraser Forster's Celtic heroics branded 'cheating' as shock jock Adrian Durham makes ludicrous Southampton claim

The talkSPORT pundit has aimed a tirade at the Hoops' loan arrangement for the Saints keeper.

Resident talkSPORT shock jock Adrian Durham has launched a tiresome attack on Celtic's loan arrangement with Southampton for Fraser Forster.

The broadcaster alleges Saints are paying more than half of the keeper's wages and branded the deal "blatant cheating" following his Betfred Cup Final heroics.

Forster was the scourge of Rangers at Hampden on Sunday as he pulled off a succession of stunning stops, including denying Alfredo Morelos from the penalty spot after he assumed spot-kick duties from James Tavernier.

But Durham, in a classic case of "man fails to understand loan system", believes the trophy should be handed over to Southampton for six months.

The pundit, who has a history of attempting to bait Celtic fans, even took his mental gymnastics as far as insisting the Premier League club were funding the Hoops' Premiership title bid.

He said on his talkSPORT Drive show: "Fraser Forster was man of the match, he was sensational. Everything that was kicked at him, headed at him, every ball that was near him he would've saved it.

"Even if Tavernier had taken the penalty Forster would probably have saved it - he was that good.

"Fraser Forster's on £70,000-a-week, Southampton are paying more than half of that wage.

"Is it really fair that he's kept goal for Celtic? Isn't that cheating? It's blatant cheating, isn't it?

"They can't afford to pay his wages so what's he doing in the team?"

Co-host Darren Gough made a futile attempt at reason by suggesting the arrangement was a good one for Saints.

He said: "I'm sure Southampton are looking at it and thinking we're saving £35,000-a-week."

But Durham doubled down, dragging up Rangers' financial woes in 2012 in the process.

He continued: "They're getting a great deal out of it. Southampton deserve to have that trophy in their trophy cabinet for six months of the next 12. It's an absolute disgrace.

"Southampton are funding Celtic's season, they're funding Celtic's title bid.

"It doesn't feel right, because when you consider Rangers' finances were scrutinised and they were sent down to the fourth tier of Scottish football.

"I'm not saying that was wrong, maybe rightly so that they were punished in that way. And now, it's OK for a team that's challenging for trophies, honours and titles, and challenging in Europe to take a goalkeeper that's paid by another club, more than half his wages?

"That, to me, feels like it's blatant cheating. According to the rules it isn't, but does that sit right with everybody? Is it OK that's happening?

"The man of the match in the Cup Final is basically being paid by Southampton? For me, that's not on.

"Sorry, if you disagree with it, you know where I am."

If you think that's bad, just wait until he finds out where Celtic got Mohamed Elyounoussi from.

Rangers haven't exactly been slow to exploit the loan system.

But surely the most stupid statement is:

""It doesn't feel right, because when you consider Rangers' finances were scrutinised and they were sent down to the fourth tier of Scottish football."

Ah, all because of that little cashflow problem. A bit harsh. And they were relegated? Shocking. And he has the cheek to claim Celtic are signing players they can't afford!

They'll be taking the 13 goals that Defoe has scored this season off him then as I doubt the huns are paying him £100k+ a week.

Great to see the huns get mugged

I hate Celtic, but at least they are a proper team. If you asked me years ago I'd have laughed at it being suggested that I'd ever say this, but I actually want Celtic to win OF games now, such is my hatred for Sevco.  They represent so many of the things that are bad about Scottish football, and even Scotland in general.

I'm hoping for the quadruple this month...

- Celtic cup final (hilariously robbed them)

- Sevco out of Europe when "all they need to do" is not lose.

- Cheeky result for us at Ibrox on Boxing Day

- Utter humilation for them at the end of the month against Celtic

If the above came to pass, the subsequent implosion in January could be funnier than last time.

I am 100% with this. SevCo are ‘cancer and proud’. Sectarian bigotry, racism, bullying, cheating, funny handshakes in the corridors of power, trashing people’s stadiums with impunity, crazy frog, mr plod saying ‘what school did you go to sur’, financial doping, tax avoidance - you name it they got it.

Yep David. Don’t forget the refs :)
