It worked so well the last time. While I do agree that the media manipulate the candidacy of former Old Firm players (from ‘zero chance’ to ‘every chance’), it should be kept in mind that several of our best ever managers were former Old Firm players.

Wee_Eck1979
Maybe we need to look beyond who they played for before and start looking at managerial credentials. Bobby Williamson and Tommy Burns did ok for us despite being ex OF players. I don’t know much about Lovenkrands as a manager but he does seem highly rated. -

Jedi2
Lovenkrands now moved to 4/1 with Sky Bet, still behind Holt, Warnock and Dyer though.
skygod
Willie Fernie was the Celtic reserve team manager and he produced very entertaining Killie teams. As for Lovenkrands, I’d rather have him than Clark.
casual observer
What happened to his brief spell at Morton? Results or fall out?
Ngonge88
Lovekrands would still do a job left wing for us

Riccarton Bluebell
It could be now or never for Gary Holt. I’d imagine him to move to a bigger team than Livingston before too long.

Souleycouley93
Get Lovenkrands to f**k. Holt now or never for me. Great time for him to come in and build his own squad whilst in a decent position in league. Other candidates mentioned so far aren’t the greatest.
red_dug
Maybe i've just missed it but i thought Dylan Kerrs name would've popped up by now. Wouldnt be against Holt but there are more than a few folk saying that Martindale is the brains at Livi. -

Martindale stays at Livi?
Trojan76
If Warnock was genuine then it would be an interesting shout, but can't see it. Think the job is ready made for Holt, but fear that a section of our support already have made their minds up that they don't want him.

Remember the mast time we had a proper Killie hero in the dugout, didn't go too well. Admittedly the club was a cluster at the time and nice as he was he wasnt up to the job. (Eddie Morrison btw not BW). I'd rather we went for someone else rather than have our support turn on oke of our own.

If that was the case its be more difficult I'd imagine, if indeed not desirable. Edited December 23, 2019 by Beaker71

Sounds like a topic for discussion during the winter break. 'Under appreciated Killie players of the mid-late 2000s' Not for in here though. That would be wildly off topic.
