Anyone got one? Saw Dick putting one up in Escape to the Chateau but my initial research on performance not good. Be interested tho if could say power garden lights

Health centre near me has one but it's been off since I moved here 5 years ago.

Small scale wind generation isn't very productive compared to solar installations of similar cost. Or at least that was the case when I read about it a while ago.

I started looking at comparative costs a couple of days ago and found this.....the 1kW version goes roof top, lower capital cost than I thought was available, low wind speed generation. On a related issue, the price of batteries/storage has fallen sharply over the last three years. And supposedly it's must less of a risk to bald eagles, other birds and bats.

I think solar (once it's cheap and efficient enough for our climate) and batteries on micro-grids is the way we're going to go. Supplemented by large scale wind on the grid.

Photovoltaic is already cheap and even on a local level (and even with battery storage) is complentary to wind in respect of seasonal generation. Other considerations of site availability and suitability make it likely no one technology is likely to dominate to the exclusion of the other.
