Was it not the player who took the corner that was offside when the ball was played back to him. It was his foot the VAR line was placed?

No the sooner the English stop interpreting the laws like absolute f**king clown shoes the better.  VAR works perfectly well ok the continent, the issue is how the English referees are using it

VAR must be changing the rules then. When i was taught the rules when i refereed  that was the 3 occasions u were not offside from a Throw in, Direct from a corner or direct from a goal kick.
