Hibs Match Fred

The effort was there. Unfortunately at times we lacked a wee bit of quality and/or luck. A point would have been a fair result.

First half was open and IMO we let ourselves down a bit for the goals. Could have defended both a lot better than we did.

Second we had more of a grip on the game. Some of the balls into the box were exceptional and you were just looking for someone to gamble and get on the end of it.

I thought we paid the price today for a poor window. It’s sounding like a broken record now but it is being proved regularly. You could see Hibs new signings making an impact and they had options off the bench. We had Kiltie and a young boy who despite a decent run out in the cup we don’t know if he’s there on merit or to make up the numbers. The fact we were going into the final stage needing a goal and our best attacking option despite only using one sub is putting a CB up top reflects badly on Fowler and the board. The manager is now getting performances from the squad but how many times can we keep asking the same 12 or 13 to go to their limit for us before we suffer from burnout.

Thought we were good today. Played on the front food pretty much all game. Hibs defended well tbf, one of they days some good for you some don’t. Bench showed today how small a squad we have. Fight for top6 mot over.

wednesday night absolutely massive now, hopefully that result doesn’t put people of going

Dominated the second half , great effort by the team after the midweek battles, some amount of balls put in that box but just did not have that end product today as if got equaliser game could have changed

.......as others have said the poor transfer window had left us with little options to change a game or for cover if a player has a knock or looking off form......worry is that first choice 10 outfield players been asked to play a lot of games in a short period of time .....they are fit but at any level a player can have an off day which is when you look to your bench or squad to freshen things up or have a plan B

Kabamba looks very lightweight, him and Niko need to be more physical. It will be interesting to see their second goal again as keeper did not look good from where I was sitting, their first was a great strike.

Only wee Burkey could have got down low enough for  our goal, what a player he is for us.

I agree. We did look much better when Kiltie came on, but it wasn’t because of anything he did. He was a complete passenger, however the rest of the team upped their game as we chased an equaliser.

Totally disagree.

As soon as he came in he linked up well with O’Donnell. He got stuck into a massive challenge in the centre of the park; limped back to cover. He showed for the ball at every opportunity.

His shot at the end too, I think?

No way was he a passenger, in my opinion.

I thought Kiltie did well when he went on. He offered something different. Not sure he got long enough though. McKenzie was having a decent game but IMO it wasn’t coming off for him in an attacking sense. Kiltie wanted to play facing their goal and had some good link up play. Got himself into some decent positions and a decent effort at goal from a nothing chance.

Keeper is poor for the goal. But the bottom line is it wouldn't of happened if captain fantastic hadn't decided he was going to blatantly kick the hibs player and allow them to swing a free kick in on top of us.

But Kopravic is the easy option

Dicker tried to win the ball and gave away a foul, that’s his job, he doesn’t always get it right. If he wasn’t putting any tackles in we’d certainly be far worse off.

We then didn’t defend the set piece very well. Not one person can take all the blame.

What are you reading?

You said fact of the matter is that Kiltie is continuing to impress off the bench. He's not really, he's been ok since he came back. McKenzie is on a very good run of form recently.

Kiltie done better in an attacking sense than you today, yes or no Rory ?

I gave you praise for the rangers game mate.

Cannot really compare McKenzie and Kiltie on todays game. Rory is there to give some protection to Hamalainen and also to drive forward, when Kiltie came on we had given up protecting Hamalainen and were solely looking for an equaliser, we were throwing caution to the wind so a totally different role.

I thought the team applied themselves well, the effort cannot be faulted. The manager has got the team performing once again. We more than matched a technically good Hibs side. What cost us today was gambling on the many cross balls and positioning ourselves for the second ball, we just lacked quality in the right areas and a wee bit of luck.

The poor transfer window is going to cost us. We are one creative midfielder away from being a good team and three players away from a decent squad. If we are looking at out of contract players we've got to step that up, because top 6 is still there for us. As it is we've an incredibly important cup replay and then a really tough visit to Parkhead coming up. How much longer can we rely upon the same 12/13 players?

The Board and DoF really need to up their game to support the manager and players.

Watch it again. He notices he isnt going to get the ball and decides to kick him.

But no it's not one persons fault it should be been defended better, but its where it stems from

That was the difference between Hibs and Killie. A draw would have been fairer.
