Bobby14
Absolute nonsense. English football has problems with VAR so the rules of the game have to be changed?
Prahakillie
"At present, a player is offside if any part of their body with which they can score is ahead of the last defender. Wenger suggested amending the law so that "you will not be offside if any part of the body that can score a goal is in line with the last defender, even if other parts of the attacker's body are in front"." https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51556872 That clears it up then.
Skora11
It will still result in the most marginal of calls, but give the benefit to the attacker rather than defender. Still people will moan when a decision goes against them that is a mm offside!
Zorro
The only change I’d make is to bin the not interfering with play guidelines. How can someone partially blocking the view of the keeper be considered not to be interfering with play, while at the other end of the spectrum you can be played onside by a defender lying injured out by the corner flag? Let’s make offside black or white again.

Bill Shankly once memorably said, "If he is on the park and has an opposition jersey on then he is interfering with play".

The man knew a thing or two about football. That’s good enough for me.
MrTumnus
"If a player is not interfering with play, then he shouldn't be on the pitch." Brian Clough. Just scrap it altogether, or at the very least, only in the box. The game is about scoring goals so anything that reduces the number scored should be binned. -
