UEFA statement

In the light of the ongoing developments in the spread of COVID-19 across Europe and the changing analysis of the World Health Organisation, UEFA has today invited representatives of its 55 member associations, together with the boards of the European Club Association and the European Leagues and a representative of FIFPro, to attend meetings by videoconference on Tuesday 17 March to discuss European football’s response to the outbreak.

Discussions will include all domestic and European competitions, including UEFA EURO 2020.

Further communication will be made following those meetings.

Would folk be open to contributing to a pot, putting money in that they would spend at a game itself? For a pie, drink etc, then donate to the club? Or is that a bit much?

Id be up for sticking an extra tenner a week in for every game week thats shut down between now and May.

Must be clubs on the edge who won’t survive this..............like Rangers.

Accies and Livi maybe even St Johnstone all have low home supports. Large away gates must make a substantial contribution to their income. Would imagine they would be the ones in the top flight most at risk at the moment. Sevco have been on the brink for long enough. I’m not even sure they keep accounts anymore just pick random numbers

If gatherings of 500 people are to be banned then some local junior clubs might benefit from professional games being called off.

Difficult to see how this would work if usual attendance is 300 but on the day 600 turn up because the pro games are off what happens. Also there is a greater risk by having 500 people crammed in to a junior ground than having 4500 at Rugby Park.

The Dutch have set the number at 100. You get more than that at weddings, funerals.

So is someone going to be at the entrance counting up to 500 then say "That's it. Nae body else is gettin in"?

Can't see it myself...

A bit much.

Folk are going to be on stat sick pay etc if this escalates.

It could be tough for more than football clubs.

Aren’t the majority of Rangers crowds season ticket holders? I assume it would hit them and Celtic the least.

Depends if the TV companies reduce or stop the coverage of games

What Jock Stein said was quite true - football is nothing without the fans. Watching a closed door game is a very poor imitation for the real thing.

I lasted about five minutes of the PSG game last night. Was a bizarre watch

Why, that money will be spent long ago. (Probably last year in sevcos case).  Both would get a hefty payment in walk ups and match revenue from all the mutants who attend.

If Sevco have no recmcenue coming in they're absolutely screwed.

They're in the process of drafting a statement against the bat who started it all with an anti-Rangers agenda.
