Spent a fortune on gym equipment on their site and I’ve been given two confirmation emails as well as an email to say out of stock. My first payment method was PayPal which they said was declined so I tried my debit card which worked and the order number followed. They’ve taken £500 out my bank as well as a £500 pending payment on PayPal. ( the payment that apparently didn’t work).  That’s £1,000 down the swanny and I have had no luck trying to contact them. Can’t find a phone number anywhere!

Anyone here in the know of what I can do?

Tried that mate.

Their wait time is 3 hours at the moment.

I can only assume that I’m not going to be getting anything delivered, the out of stock email will be for the debit card payment. I don’t have a reference for the PayPal one so hopefully after a few days it just disappears. I’ll maybe just have to sit on the phone for hours to stop it from going through like you say. Nightmare

Contact PayPal customer support and say you've paid for goods and not received them.  That will freeze the money in Sports Directs PayPal A/C. They're really good at sorting out issues like that for the consumer. 5 minute phone call should sort it out, although having looked at the website they say extended waiting times.

You could try online support, details are there - on the bottom of the page.

(I've had to do this a few times on PayPal - I use them for payment clearing in my business.)

I’ll keep trying, thanks!

Hopefully since they won’t be processing my order due to stock. PayPal will auto clear it.

It's most probably a lack of staff at Sports Direct.  Any refund on given on PayPal has to be clicked/authorised by the retailer and if they've no admin staff, they probably shouldn't be accepting orders.  Regardless, minute you complain, the money gets frozen,  although it can take up to 21 days for the process to complete, if Sports Direct were to ignore PayPal's correspondence completely.

Yeah I should be fine one way or another. Cheers

Anyone who admits to spending "a fortune on gym equipment" at Sports Direct needs their head examined!

Not least because Ashley is a c**t, but also because they've hiked prices to profiteer from this crisis we're all in.

Another shameful company, like Halfords, Wetherspoons, Virgin, Britannia Hotels, with no consideration for workers or customers. Absolutely despicable companies and we the customers have long memories.

Spend your hard-earned at decent companies people!

Add Travel Lodge to that list, these despicable wanks have turned homeless families out after making million from local authorities.  Some folk got 2 hours notice to leave without anywhere to go.
