stewarty66
The next time Sevco fans bleat about Scottish football authorities just remind them of this. Their current stance of bullying and standing up for wee teams is laughable.

Wrangodog
At the meeting today seven clubs wanted reconstruction to be permanent, three were in favour of a temporary change. I would guess that Hearts, Celtic, and Sevco wanted the temporary change.

Wee_Eck1979
Hearts can go back to the championship for all I care. Reconstruction has to permanent

Top 6 places still up for grabs, guaranteed European place still to be decided, relagation and play off place far from being decided.A battle which could involve most of the teams in the bottom 6.Plus the fact that the top/bottom 6 change most seasons .The only monotony is the league winners each season and a 14 team league won't change that.14 team league means less money to share around which means players will be payed less .Will crowds go up for us in a 14 team league ? Hardly an exciting prospect of playing ICT 4 times a season

Personally I'm scunnered watching the same teams week in week out. Bigger picture.

Scouser2
Seems this is now a non runner after vote today by clubs in the top league ........ ————- The prospect of league reconstruction for next season has been quashed after Scottish Premiership clubs indicated there isn’t enough support for any changes at this time. This development comes after a meeting of top flight clubs earlier and means Hearts face being relegated to the Championship if the Premiership season is ended, with Partick Thistle starting next season in League One and Stranraer being demoted to the bottom tier. All divisions below the Championship have already come to an end as they stand. There is a desire among top-flight clubs, however, to revisit the issue of revamping the league structure in the future. Gaffer
Tynecastle is one of the best away days we get and they usually bring a good support to RP. If they are relegated and to be fair they have been awful all season, it will be deserved but no one coming up is going to come anywhere near the support they have, leaving another financial hole to be filled.
Fudger
Really hope BB wasn’t one who accepted the status quo after all this. What an absolutely pathetic episode. Really leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Rangers blatant stupidity has somehow made the SPFL look the good guys in this.

SPFL are to blame for bringing them back from the dead. I still can’t believe the same club and history nonsense and as for the EBTs it’s shocking. Hope they go to engerlund as we don’t need them. Rant over!
warney
If the proposal was 14 next season with 3 teams down, I would hope our board would’ve stood against that. It is not in our interests to have this.
piffer
Perhaps short term its best to ditch the talks. Reconstruction is needed but it can’t be rushed and it can’t be used for self interest. IMO any talks until now have had the intention of keeping Hearts in the tops flight not the greater good of the game. Go away and come up with a proper task force. Ex players, broadcaster, fans, representatives from leagues and maybe some neutral bodies with experience elsewhere. Come up with a number of proper well thought out options and go from there. 14 teams is talked about a lot. It’s a bit daft for me the way they want to work the split. I’m not a fan of the bottom 8 playing more games than the top 6 if it goes that way nor would I like a free week in post split fixtures. If we went down the 14 team route I’d like to see them look to continue to 16 teams and maybe 18. Edited May 8, 2020 by piffer
chubbs
Reconstruction was only being discussed as a way to stop ahearts being relegated ... THAT was wrong from the start. If the league was called then they either get relegated or have to play off for safety. The fact there are no playoffs in the lower leagues is also wrong. Call the current positions final by all means but the play offs should still be taking place at some point when the game restarts.

Ngonge88
I know hearts tends to be 3 points for us most of the time these days, but I feckin hate them so I'll be delighted if they get pumped down to the championship... again
