historyman
£2m is indeed peanuts. A few months salary for some premiership players. Games behind closed doors is surely a non-starter for Scotland Edited June 2, 2020 by historyman

casual observer
Since the 12 premiership clubs hoover up approx 85% of the TV money - as that is what Sky are paying for - it’s fairer if they fund their own testing and leave the 30 lower league clubs to share the benefactors donations. Celtic et al taking a share of that is totally unnecessary and wouldn’t be the difference in the Premier league playing behind closed doors or not. Wrangodog
Kilmarnock chairman Billy Bowie also doubts if the Rugby Park club could afford to test players and staff two or three times a week at around £50 per head each time. He said: “If it comes to that, there’s no way we could afford up to £6000 per week. “We don’t know the timescale either. If it went on for a year, that would be over £300,000. “It’s a big ask to expect any club to pay that in the current climate. If the SPFL tells us we have to, to ensure the season starts, people would be asking for help". Daily Record, 30th May. Thats £4500 per week.
Maverick11
James Anderson looking to put in £4.75m to the 42 clubs. Just over £100k each if split evenly but it’s more likely to be weighted.

Maverick11
If the money comes in for the whole of Scottish football then Hearts will take their medicine and will ultimately be relegated (possibly after a lip service civil court case)
Wrangodog
Celtic and Ross County have their own testing stations, £35,000 each. Ross County because of their geographical location and presumably will share coasts with Caley. I get the feeling that Anderson's main aim is to support clubs in the Championship so that the Jambos can play when we restart.

killie billies pal
If we cannot afford £35k for our own testing station then I am a bit shocked. It’s only a couple of month ago that BB went to the press saying that we would not fold as we had people in power that could afford to make sure we were “sorted” financially.

I'd have thought TIK would be close to affording this amount. im sure it was mentioned recently that a sum was due to the club soon.

trenwick
I'm all for change to break the monotony of playing same team 3 or 4 times a season depending if you finish top six or bottom Six, but this change has to be a permanent fixture not just for two years to save the Hearts, there getting the same sort of entitled right that mob fae govan would want. increase the league so that we play home and away and not one that panders to the bigots day oot for 4 games a season

Scouser2
Also now confirmed the news re this investment to help Scottish clubs is not as high as previously rumoured but still will help a large number of clubs at this time ...... ******* Philanthropist James Anderson's offer of around £2m to the SPFL would be split evenly between all 42 members, lower league clubs have been told. The influx is significantly less than the reported £4.5m and comes with no strings attached. That being so, it would mean each club would bank around £50,000 each. SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster and chairman Murdoch MacLennan talked to Anderson on Monday over the cash, which would make "a significant difference".
