  1. Really cant stand rich over privileged Tories but Sunak made some reasonable points about Starmer at PMQs.
  2. Another hard watch but its results that count.
  3. I have not seen either challenge so not a comment on either decision but the point is invalid. It was a perfectly valid defence in my day, all that counted was getting contact on the ball first. Now "out of control" is a straight red regardless of whether the ball is played. PS I miss the old days. PPS some claim Ndaba did not meet the "out of control" requirement. I have not seen it.
  4. Papers still full of it. No news today then.
  5. That's neo-liberal economics for you. I can remember working in the defence industry. Management did not embark on a new project because: A) They thought it sounded interesting B) The thought it might lead to a technology break through C) it was vital to the defence of the nation D) It would make a profit Nope, their only factor in deciding if they would take it on was that it would make a big enough profit. Thatcher's reforms of the defence industry mean we now but everything from the US. Because they make it cheaper than we can build it. That's the reason Starmer keeps bending over for them over Israel. If we piss off the US, no defence equipment. Thatcher did the but she is still regarded as a patriotic hero by the Land of Hope and Glory bigade.
  6. Hope it turns out OK for you.
  7. I find the idea that anybody, including Sunak, would not find betting on human misery to be, at best, in very poor taste is very sad.
  8. Lets set aside the fact I never voted for them, Auld Nick will be enjoying some apres ski the day I vote for the Tories. The things they pledged to are undeliverable as most of them are mutually exclusive. Like "bring down immigration and boost GDP growth". You need one to achieve the other, particularly with an aging home grown population. Then there is "get Brexit done". Given we cant tow the UK out across the Atlantic it is fairly impossible to achieve any of the things the Brexiteers promised. Nothing they say is coherent even if you agree with any of it. Like sending asylum seekers to Rwanda. It will never happen and even if it did it would not reduce the number of channel crossings in small boats and even if it did it would not significantly change the number of immigrants coming here. So I cant wait to see the door hitting then on the way out. The only issue is there is no body suitable to replace them as Nu Labour are offering more of the same.
  9. Anybody else think this Charlie Boy story flooding the Murdoch Press and the State Broadcaster is a rather convenient distraction for a PM facing a flatlining economy, falling living standards and internal party plotting? I think its essential that everybody gets diagnosed as early as possible but it's not as if Charlie will have to wait in line in the NHS queue with everybody else is it?
  10. Have you thought of writing a letter to Rishi to ask him what happened to the blessed Margaret's proclamation or Cameron's 2014 assertion that the only way to ensure EU membership was to vote NO?
  11. Ohhhhh Matron! Whats not to like about Cary on Camping? 🙂
  12. They are being very coy about what is going on. Its cancer, but not as we know it........
  13. For me this is a far more promising line leading to greater Scottish autonomy than demanding another referendum which Cameron said was a one off. Nobody can argue its impractical as we are already doing it in a part of the UK or that it is undemocratic as there was a much bigger vote to remain in the EU in Scotland than there ever was to leave in England. There is no logical argument against it. Except perhaps that London Mayr would then demand the same rights.
  14. At some point Starmer is going to eventually see the cost of throwing in his lot with the the Land of Hope and Glory brigade. It's not the place it's some of the inhabitants. Brown was right she was a bigot.
  15. I see Stephen Flynn is finally making my point. If here is no logistical or administrative objection to NI being part of the UK and having access to the single market, what possible reason could Westminster have for objecting to Scotland having said access?
  16. I think Dennis made some sub-optimal decisions at their goal but that was only part of the story. He would never have been so exposed but for some Championship standard miss communication by the guys in front of him. And people seem to be forgetting the save he made right on time to keep it at 1-1. Several keepers we have had would have let that slip in.
  17. Just watched the Sportscene highlights. WTF was he doing?
  18. That's what I thought. We looked poor for long stretches. The wind didnae help anybody. Glad to escape with a point.
  19. its not fun to watch. The defence is getting pulled about all over the place. 2 defenders and the keeper all seemed to have completely switched off at the goal.
  20. Starmer is comfortable he can get elected on the English centre right vote. He doesn't need the Muslim vote, he doesn't need votes from people who want a fairer society and if truth be told he doesn't need any votes from Scotland.
  21. Alistair Jack seems to be really sticking the boot into Sturgeon now. Nice to know he can actually "do something". He has spent his entire time in office as Scottish Secretary doing f**k all squared with bells on for Scotland. The absolutely ideal performance for a Tory MP.
  22. I think you are being too generous to them.
  23. I've done my time watching us roll over to the twisted two while I had to listen to Scottish sectarianism at its "best". My ST seat was surrounded by 3 or four groups of the drunken great unwashed while we rolled over to let Rangers win the league at RP. On reflection it's probably better we did in view of my own personal safety. The club swore blind there would be no "away supporters" in the East Stand ... Michael Johnston lied. So I have paid my money, but I have no intention of going through that nonsense again.
