  1. I have looked at the first goal numerous times. Looks to me that Vassell was going to shot with his left foot but the St Mirren player got a foot in which led to the ball falling for Vassell to poke it home. A lot of fortune in that goal. Can’t knock his second goal though. McInnes spinning the ball bit round is a thing of joy!!
  2. Another big change to the second half was that our attackers weren’t hard up against their back 5 when trying to win the ball as they had been in the first half. We win nothing and the St Mirren defence dealt with them by well. Second half we managed to get flick ons to run on to and had the St Mirren defence turning rather than facing the ball and defending long balls.
  3. I appreciate if he is being blocked it is difficult to come and collect the ball and the corners weren’t completely on top of him. Both landed at the edge of the six yard box. He isn’t a big physical goalie who is going to impose himself. That may be an age thing. We also suffered from having our smaller players in and around him rather than Deas, Findlay or Wright. The goals were well executed by St Mirren and badly defended by us. As for the goalkeeper playing the ball with his feet. That isn’t a strength of Dennis’. He tends to simply clear it. The goalkeepers that are good with the ball at their feet are getting it passed back to them. Our defenders appear to be expecting Dennis to come and get the ball when it is close to them and far from him. He is getting unfairly criticised for this. It was never on for him to collect the ball at Dundee where Mayo got sent off and I can’t think of a clear case yesterday where he was at fault for not coming for a ball that he should have when the defenders were trying to shepherd it out to him. I think the defenders were looking for him to come for balls that weren’t on for him to collect and not far enough for them to knock back for him to play easily with his feet. Sometimes you have to accept that putting the ball out and regrouping is best.
  4. Hemming lost 2 goals to his weakness of balls shot across him. Vassell’s second and Watson’s goal.
  5. He doesn’t come off his line at corners. He relies on the defence to deal with them. From a St Mirren point of view the corners were well worked but a bit of dark arts in them with blocking etc. Kiltie’s delivery was also very good. Gogic runs to the front post and Findlay follows him taking him out of the game. Fraser blocks Wright. We are left with 2 of our smallest players Watson and Kennedy in the middle of the goal. Vassell not actively defending. St Mirren have a player blocking the goalie and the ball lands in the box. We defended them both poorly which is unlike us. If we had a more imposing goalkeeper who decided to come and collect the ball it would make a difference. It’s a weakness in Dennis’ game and St Mirren targeted that. If you are talking about Dennis coming off his line when the ball is coming towards his goal in open play situations. Yes he is hesitant at times but also defenders are asking him to come for balls that are too close to them and too far from him at times and they should be dealing with them by putting the ball out of the park. I think this was the case against St Mirren. There weren’t any that were nailed on for him to claim.
  6. We should be proud of the players. They deserve a bigger crowd watching them. Some of the players may move on to bigger clubs for example Watson and Armstrong. However, the first half performance was poor. On the back of a performance away last week that was also poor. The defending for the two St Mirren goals was terrible. Findlay getting drawn towards the ball marking Gogic and Joe Wright the wrong side of his man. The players deserved criticism as they didn’t play well in the first half.
  7. It was just a bad game yesterday. It happens sometimes. First goal Findlay fails to deal with the long ball but it bounces kindly off Miovski when it could have gone anywhere. The ball gets to Hoilett. Poor shot takes a deflection goalie spills it and McGrath just happens to be in hand. Second goal. Poor set up at throw in but Shinnie’s shot gets a deflection. Third goal ball ricochets between Hoilett and Mayo before the cross and another deflection. I thought we were the better team after we got our goal and if we’d got another they’d have collapsed. Fourth goal was crucial and they got it. Substitutions were odd. I thought Watson was doing OK. Murray had 45 minutes but made no impact. If he has a role it is as a sub late in the game. Missed Kennedy but we could have used Mackay Steven or switched Danny to the left. McInnes likes Wright for his ability to win the ball in the air on the right going forward. That is why he is in the team rather than shuffling to accommodate Deas. Aberdeen are poor but our poor play made them look decent. Didn’t like the cup chat this week and I wonder if the players sun conciously thought the game was won given how poor Aberdeen have been. We lacked the fight that we had to come back at Dundee. Dick Donald stand is well games as Aberdeen fans in that stand were dicks!! We need to pick ourselves up for next week. St Mirren game is crucial. Win and we puncture their top six chances. Avoid defeat and we have the better run in. We need to avoid a loss.
  8. McInnes said he was injured. If he refused to come on he won’t play again.
  9. Listening to that I expect the cup game to turn into a battle. We are going to need a strong ref.
  10. I think KV will be rested or off for an operation when KVV gets fit as KV looks as if he is carrying an injury. Continuing to play him could exacerbate any issue.
  11. Without asking for the audio how do you know how the decision was reached. Full disclosure should be easy.
  12. It’s not paranoia. Without knowing how the officials reached the decision to send Ndaba off then how do players avoid it happening again. Full disclosure on how the decision was reached is what I’m looking for.
  13. I think we should request the audio so we can hear the decision making. Ndaba is off the ground in this still but as the other still shows he is on the ground when he made the tackle. Are Scottish referees saying you can’t leave the ground when making a tackle? If this is the case then they need to state this. Ndaba won the ball. The Hibs players forward motion took him into Ndaba. I didn’t think it was a foul at the time and don’t think it’s a foul now.
  14. Mayo, Deas, Findlay, Ndaba is the best back 4. We lose less goals when they play together. Mayo, Deas, Findlay is the best back 3. We lose less goals when they play together than any other back 3 combination.
  15. Celtic League Cup Mayo, Deas, Findlay, Ndaba. Mayo playing on right. Deas in central defence. Mayo or Deas playing where Wright would. Hearts away. Mayo, Deas, Findlay back 3. Mayo or Deas playing where Wright would play. Rangers at home. Mayo, Deas, Findlay, Ndaba. Celtic home. Nayo, Deas, Findlay, Ndaba. So Mayo or Deas replacing Wright and not Findlay or Ndaba.
