  1. es - a big one for me: Tranent - Berwick Rangers
  2. I may have missed it, but what was our crowd at Paisley?
  3. I seem to remember a few seasons ago, very early on in the season we were playing Rangers at home and I think it was Jamie Murphy who broke his cruciate and was out for the rest of the season. Our pitch was blamed by the media for this. The following week at Parkhead, a Celtic player was injured and was out for the rest, or most, of the season. Was their grass pitch blamed? I hope that when our new training ground is finished we will revert back to grass at Rugby Park. I don't know what the financial side is of having our 4G pitch but surely with the new ones at our training ground all the activities can be relocated to there so there would be no major loss of revenue. I am sure, like most of us, we appreciate what Mr Bowie and the board for all they have done for the club. Thank you Mr Bowie. Finally, it is rumoured that Al Hilal have made a £125m bid for Rory but his wages were a stumbling block and his legal qualifications were not recognised in Saudi! Killiedaft1957
  4. Club contacted me - I had apparently been 20th on waiting list - Ticket was Row 24 seat 14. Appreciate Alan Kyle handingout of the tickets for use who don't live in Kilmarnock area. Round about me there must have been about 20 - 30 empty seats and I am told by my Jambo pal he saw quite a few in the front row and a few others dotted around. Why was this? If all 628? sold then why were these seats empty?- meant some Killie fans missed out and Hearts missed out on revenue! Killiedaft1957
  5. Regularly at my house - as I live there KIlliedaft1957
  6. Good assessment and one which most of us understand. It must have and still is for DM to belooking for a striker of quality when we can be opstaged by the likes of non-league clubs such as York City as Ayr found out (and only got c£150,000.00 for Dipo). Interestingly Ayr have signed two English non-league, not even National League, players. We tried this avenue with Alex Dyer (lovely man but management a bridge-too-far) and failed miserably. I am glad I don't have DM's job (maybe the salary! ). If he doesn't get his man/men then our bampots will be out in force! Digressing - before the Wee Rovers match I had a very nice and long conversation with Rory and an old supporter of theirs who had travelled up by train from Morpeth for the match. NIce to have been able to mingle with the opposition support. On another sad note - I met Mary Fleeting and she told me that Jim was not too well at present. I am sure we all wish him well and a speedy recovery. Killiedaft1957
  7. We will certainly get a result - bit worried it might be 0-5 though. Would like the manager's explanation on his re-signing a man who cost us quite a few goals and points last season. Beginning to get a bit worried about the "signings". Is Andy Kerr still un-attached? Killiedaft1957
  8. Not sure I would have used your same words to sum up yesterdays match but agree with your summation. As a Killie fan for over 66 years (yes an old git - but at least I can say I have seen us win everything). We are used to seeing us losing more than we win but we would hope to, at least, see some performances where we could return home and say "we played well today" and that wasn't at yesterday's match or any other of our previous three Viaplay and two friendly matches.. We were without Wright ( probably the only player from last season who we could sell on and not for very much) and Vassell from our starting line-up but they would not have made the tremendous difference one fan had said. This time last season we were awaiting our new "Messi" but he never arrived and if he doesn't arrive this window then we are in for the same ride as last season, near lowest scorers and near poorest defensive record.I certainly didn't agree with our manager's summation of the match nor our progress so far this season. Highlights were all before the match - talking to another nice old git (this one had on a red and yellow scarf and had travelled up from Morpeth - a real supporter and the type a pleasure reminiscing with before the match. He and I had a nice fifteen minute conversation with Rory. Thanks Rory for taking the time to talk to supporters from both ranks - and old gits at that. Killie are our team, through thick and thin. I feel for big Innes - he is not good enough but he is Killie through and through and as long as the players try 100% we cannot blame them, the players and system come from the manager. If the players are not trying them we can then let them know our feelings. Like others I cannot see why he has not given at least some ten minutes or so game time to Warnock and Wales - they couldn't have been any worse than most. Where has our "first touch" gone, most of it was pretty dreadful. Lets hope .... Killiedaft 1957
  9. Neither are good enough for us to progress beyond last season - Doidge scored 3 goals and Cameron 1 goal in the league, albeit Cameron had a miserable season through injury.. Surely we can do better. We shouldalso be looking for a contribution of around 8 goals from our midfield. When we had Power and Dicker, they were good but you knew you were never going to get a goal. Even in the Championship our midfielders did not score as many goals as should have been expected at that level. Our manager still has a bit of searching to do to get our scoring ;evel improved. 10. Totally agree. Strips are getting away from traditition as fashion designers seem to have taken over. Keep Killie traditional.
  11. Absolutely, On our (some time ago) numerous European matches abroad I always tried to stay near to Jim as within minutes he had found (probably his researcher) the cheapest boozer near to the hotel. I remember at Prestwick Airport ,at the check-in desk, for our match against Viking Stavanger, a Killie fan, who had driven all the way from Aberdeen to Prestwick Airport only to discover he had forgotten his passport. Jim on hearing this immediately offered his condolencs to the guy and offered to buy his ticket for half price. Agreed - Jim was on the blower to his wife - get "Jimmy" dressed and bring him from Mauchline to the airport, with passport, he is going to see our blessed Killie in Norway.. Oh and write a sick note (I am sure Jim has these printed off in their thousands! Great pre-match entertainment at Betty's Fun Bar and ahead an evening of bliss - well 90 seconds - Vikiing scored - we were rubbish - but Jim got his son to Norway So many great times in Jim's company. Surprised that Netflix have not serialized his Killie exploits. How many times did Sinatra retire? Cheers Jim, Robert Ferguson, Edinburgh
  12. From myview in the Wes tStand I thought that we lost out on two important decisions, early in thesecond half, in my mind, that could have beengame changers and reduced Motherwell to 9 men. Firstly Doidge was running through, only to br brought down just outside the box. The ref gave a foul to Motherwell which I thought should have been awarded to KIllie. If this hadbeen the case then it was a "last man" foul and the player would have been sent off. Secondly, just minutes later, their keeper clearly handled the ball outside the box. Totally missed by the ref and the Assistant , Douglas Ross. Nothing given and no refererence to VAR (again these may not be in their domain? BBC Scotland Sportscene made no reference to either incident, nor were either shown in the clips - so obviosly I am wrong butI still think Motherweel had two lucky escapes. Sadly our three late substitutes did not work and instead ofplaying out the final three minutes we lost a goal, through Mackenzie notbeing one of those to be substitued. How someone who has just graduated as a lawyer in England can be so stupid on the park! Does anyone else agree with my view on these two decisions that wentagainst us? Firstly,
  13. If the player gives 100% and his heart is with Kilmarnock ( as Rory) then he cannot be faulted and we should not abuse him. The criticim should be to the person who signed him. At present we have an awful lot of Championship or lower players and it has not been easy to move them on as they have decent (for them) contracts so whu should they move on for a drop in salary. I was pleased with the appointment of Tommy Wright but this quickly disappeared and he turned out to be a disastir. The appointment of McInness seemed greatbut in a year we have not had one decent signing as a fully fledged Killie player. Too many loan players are not good for the long term development of the club. Why have we not been able to make any decent signings? The pitch has certainly put some off, our wage structure is not the highest butclubs like Livingston, Ross County, St Johnstone and Motherwell, all seem to be able to atrract players (all mostly from the lower leagues in England. and some are able to be sold on for a good profit. In the last couple of seasons we have not had a player in the Scotland Under 21s. so this shows that we do not have young players coming through, at the moment. Sure the big boys can attract boys at a very young age but we seem to lag behind most similar clubs. Our gates are better than the aforementioned clubs and we have a very decent travelling support. So what is wrong? We have a board who are local and, in my opinion good, I am sure Derek has tried to get players in but a present we are in a dire situation and the transfer window has closed!! So what is wrong? One thing that we can do, and we saw this from the recentWorld Cup, even if we are losing or not playing well, keep supporting our team in a positive manner. Many fans turn on our guys and shout absolute obsenitirs at them, without regard to our young fans and ladies and girls. If this is thrit firrst match they will not be back. Young or old , male or female, we are all Killie so let's prove it! Have deviated a lot from Kyle Lafferty but this is how I feel.
  14. Killie must feature least of all the Premier league clubs. Why is this? We have a manager who is one of the most experienced in our league and indeed Scotland and yet we hear very little rumour about our interest in players, coming or going. I am sure a lot has gone on behind the scenes but never reached or interested the gossipcoloums. We certainly wish to keep our interest in new players qiet until the business end is done but, if we feature once a week in the BBC Gossip Column then we are doing well. WE are coming to the end of the transfer window and our position is serious yet still no rumours and it looks like any late movement in incoming players will be on "loan" a shortterm loan and this is not good for the future of the club. Your thoughts!
