  1. So you've an 18 year old boy, a great prospect, came through youth set up and a Killie fan, and you banish him to the reserves and let him rot as not signed a contract extension for a years time, even though we would get a development fee. Is that really who we want to be? That would be an utter disgrace. Perhaps look more into the reasons he won't sign a new contract, or make the most of him, develop him as much as possible and wish him a successful career if he moves on, with it being a massive credit to the Kilmarnock youth set up that he came through at our club?
  2. I really hope not. He offers something different to both Vassell and Cameron, however if we sign a couple of strikers then that changes things. At the moment we are in no position to loan him out.
  3. With the publicity gathering regarding the strip and back story, this has been really smart thinking and marketing from the club. Well done to everyone involved in this idea. Tremendous 👏
  4. I'd absolutely prefer Mr Mexican Second Division Man to Christian Doidge
  5. He never played that with us though as he played to the players strengths and made the most of what he had. Occasionally playing one player there is different to playing 2 players out of position every week for a full season
  6. By effectively playing attacking wide midfielders as full backs? It doesnt, as they can't defend, and that's not a criticism, its not their position. For that position you need e.g. Alebiosu and Chambers. Would Steve Clarke have used Jones and Burke as wing backs? Needs to set up the players strengths, or sign players to play to what you want, not be heartset on a formation then putting players into it which doesn't make the most of their ability
  7. Also heard this could be a go-er. Would prefer Joe Lewis if it was an option.
  8. I think that's maybe a fair point, it was boiling over at Inverness, which some may have thought harsh, but the reaction was from people who had mostly taken a day off work, done the guts of a 9 hour round trip to watch us get beaten by a mediocre side a division below us in a quarter final with a really poor performance, little did we know we wouldve got Falkirk in semi and hopefully progressed to a final. Financially would've been beneficial even if we didn't win. I don't recollect anyone being against him from Day 1, it seemed like a coup getting him in the Championship, but there are people underwhelmed. I felt the signings where questionable at times, the first January he clearly never rated a lot of players at the club so brought in a rake of loan signings, who then sat on bench. The tactics also been questionable, but we were told that his hands were tied with 70% of the budget used by players signed before he came to the club, although he signed a fair number of players. That would imply the decks would be cleared this close-season, but many of these we thought he was referring to were given new deals. I dont think its that people had a vendetta from Day 1. I certainly never but over a period of time formed the opinion it wasnt working and wasn't good enough. Absolutely willing to start afresh this season, and still am, some may not be, but its not looked great, albeit not too much can be taken from a preseason friendly
  9. None that I've met, and to be honest i think this is nonsense and a poor cop-out to try and deflect from the inadequacies. Lee McCulloch played 4 times as many games for Rangers as McInnes; i don't remember the same being said about him, or used as the reason the fans weren't happy..... perhaps its nothing to do with their background and more about performances.
  10. We were talking to couple of Linfield fans after the game: "That was just the Kilmarnock B team though" "No, thats our first team" "No way, I've seen amateur teams play better than that against us"
  11. Hopefully a front 3 and Kennedy and Armstrong not used as wing backs. I was very critical last season, and yesterday was pretty horrendous, and a long day for the fans, but did feel it was a bit harsh/premature some of the shouts, especially in such an empty ground where every word could be heard. I was more confident of change a couple of weeks ago than I am but theres still time. I've a strange feeling we could end up with Joe Lewis and Curtis Main, which although not the most exciting, I would actually take right now.
  12. Yes who was touted by an agent, hardly a rough diamond found by Recruitment Manager. A panic signing that worked out.... in the end.
  13. Brozovic away as well, along with Benzema, Kante, Neves, it seems that perhaps instead of it being a place for old players to play out their final days it may actually be a decent league. Celtic doing alright out if Jota and Hatate both go, be the guts of £40m for a £6.5m outlay. Whereas Rangers big assets they claimed were worth that a couple years ago (Kent, Morelos and Kamara), two leave for nothing and one worth about nothing. Strange how there were allegedly clubs putting in bids for Morelos worth £20m, but now nobody will take him for nothing.
  14. This is my fear, I hope he changes formation and even goes similar to what Clarke played with 4-5-1 when defending and 4-3-3 in attack with Kennedy and Armstrong as wingers, and an attacking centre mid playing behind the striker. I dont think we should be playing wingers as wing backs, its trying to make players fit a system again. Ndaba has played most of his games at left back and has the number 3 so maybe he has been brought in as a full back.
  15. How many goals did Fletcher score last season in comparison to our strikers.... in a worse team? I'm not certain but I would guess around the same number as Vassell, Doidge, Cameron and Lafferty combined? I'm not saying we should be in for him by the way, just pointing out that he's still very useful, considerably more so than Christian Doidge.
  16. Agreed in my opinion he contributed next to nothing. Not quite sure what his role was, he was just kind of... there. I cannot see anything at all from last season that would make us think it would be a good idea to bring him back. If he had a purple patch then maybe. There will be better options out there.
  17. What a really strange evening, that rain was absolutely ridiculous and dont think the pitch was to blame-all the surrounding area was flooded, ref came out to check the park, bounced the ball-it didn't but went ahead anyway. Hame after 1am with trenchfoot, topped off by 77 being closed on way home. With regards to the football, I thought we were absolutely tremendous at times, looked so comfortable zipping the ball about against a side thats not lost a game in 18 months. What Clarke has done with this group of players is incredible. It would take a major collapse to not make it now, but i dont think under Clarke that will happen. Superb!
  18. Another tremendous result, it wasn't free-flowing attractive football, but the truth is the support dont care how we play if we win and that was magic last night. Same as some of the wins when we finished 3rd, nobody remembers the stats, just the results. His record with this side is ridiculous. When he does eventually leave will Scotland plummet like Killie did, who cares just now, its a good time to be following Scotland.
  19. According Wyscout stats he was the best centre half in the championship last season, Deas was 12th.
  20. Injuries yes but did he not score two and assist two in one of his last matches for County, which at the time was more than our strikers had produced in months.
  21. Strange how football works, he's been written off for two years, and regularly mentioned as one of the old signings that needs punted to free up wages, plays a couple of good games towards the end of the season and gets himself a new deal. Fair play to him, hopefully he plays a bigger part going forward to show he is worth it.
  22. Celtic tend to do this with players so they get a fee even if they are unlikely to be first team regulars.
  23. Thought they were doing that this season, shows it doesnt count for anything. Surely they can't throw silly money at it again, their wages to turnover ratio is ridiculous, can't be sustainable.
