  1. That video sums up why I sometimes get frustrated with Rory. The drive he used to have bringing real forward momentum to the side. Hes adapted his game and is valued but was that lost naturally or coached out of him.
  2. Was he as bad as that? He made some costly mistakes. Dennis has made enough himself. Perhaps less costly because the team in front of him is better.
  3. Of course players will be compared to him. We used the same market to get him as we have used to get Dennis. Bachmann was down the pecking order at Watford when we got him. He was a top performer for us in the season we finished third and he’s gone on to play at a high level domestically and internationally. What similarities are people seeing between Bachmann and Dennis to suggest he will go on to play at the same level to Dan or higher?
  4. He’s better than some and he’s worse than others we’ve had in recent years. Personally I think he’s a mile off the Bachmann and Woodman standard. I don’t think he’s in the Bell, Combe and McDonald category behind those two either. Is he better than Walker? Not for me. In terms of Premiership performances he’s probably on par with Hemmings last season. He's made some big saves but he’s also made some big errors and there is still a lot of hesitancy in his play. In recent games I think the defence has looked less confident in him. He'll go on to have a decent career but I'll be surprised if he gets a lot higher than this as a first choice.
  5. Really need wide options in the squad to offer something different.
  6. I’m backing that would be part of the pre planned bit. They don’t give a f**k about respecting other clubs. As others have said if the shoe was on the other foot there would be petitions to parliament and all sorts of outrage.
  7. Where does he sit in number of appearances now? Not as much of a regular this season but still clocked up a good amount. What about years of service?
  8. Good to see steps being taken to keep the squad together. Rory hasn’t featured as much as previous seasons but he’s not let us down. We need guys like him who know the club and the area around the squad. Although not as much of a regular he is one of the foundations. Hopefully this is the start and more renewals to follow.
  9. If they are torn is he actually a really good championship player. What little I've seen of him this season he’s looked average and been far from the best player on the park. Comments above about a recall sum it up for me. The club knew we were going to be without Lyons and Magennis for a spell. If McInroy had been flying then he’d have been back. Some people suit different levels. McInroy in the championship when we were down looked better for Ayr than Polworth did for Killie. In the prem he hasn’t got close to doing what Polworth has done for us.
  10. Open Goal we’re doing a darts challenge with him last week.
  11. Hearts statement suggests the stadium was under the control of the competition organisers.
  12. Where do people stand on this one? I appreciate it’s a cup final and a neutral venue. I don’t have that big an issue with Rangers putting down their own badge but the manner in which they’ve put it on top of the Hearts badge I think is disrespectful. They could have put a temporary cover over the whole thing instead of making it look like a supporter with a sticker. Hearts fans rightly annoyed with this one IMO
  13. Looks like it will be going up against Champions League Quarter Finals and a full Championship card in England on the rearranged date but if they played it the week before it would be the only show in town and could maximise the TV audience. The OF game is on the 7th and some say Rangers were actively against playing it in the build up to that.
  14. Think three guaranteed to be away in the summer will be Sanders, McInroy and Warnock.
  15. McInnes speaks highly of him when he’s brought into conversation. Sounds like he feels he has the right attributes but lacks confidence and aggression
  16. Could work the other way. Go chase the cash while his partner is on maternity and there are no ties to schooling etc? Get a couple of years under your belt then back to settle down.
  17. Going to the MLS gives players a chance to be superstars of sorts. They are going to get more attention and coverage than staying here, financially be better off, life experiences will be fantastic and a chance to play against some up and comers as well as some great players in the twilight of their career. IMO there is far more appeal in that than going to a Hearts, Hibs or a lot of Championship clubs down south.
  18. Not saying they’re not decent players and I’d certainly have considered both for Killie but with Hearts budget and supposed ambition are these progressive signings? They bring in good cash from attendance, foundation of Hearts and the like. They’ll get European football next season which brings more money. Then they will more than likely get a significant sum for Shankland. These don’t scream players to consolidate third and try to close the gap.
  19. Think we need the break to give some a rest and deal with some niggles. Seems to be a few who aren’t training then magically appear on Saturday afternoon. Give them a decent recovery if they need it. Great to be going into it on a high after Saturday. Could have been a very different story but confidence will be brimming and a good opportunity to prepare for Hearts.
  20. Wouldn’t argue too much with that.
  21. Yip google check shows the club announced a two year deal.
  22. Looks like there is going to be a lot to do again in the summer. Maybe 13+ players who could potentially be away. Dennis loan up and O'Hara out of contract. Findlay, Ndaba and Davies loans up. Sander’s out of contract. Polworth and Donnelly out of contract. Balagizi loan over. Watkins, Cameron and Stewart out of contract. KVV loan over. Three I’d be desperate to keep are Watkins, Ndaba and Findlay. Donnelly in current form is playing himself towards a new deal. Polworth has had a good season. I don’t see us going into next season with just Vassell and Wales as strikers. I agree with @PillieKie that it would be good to see us get a keeper on a longer term deal to stop the turnover there that’s going back probably five or six seasons. I'd still like to see us add some natural fullbacks as an option.
  23. He’s certainly been touting himself a lot recently and been more prominent in the media. I'd like to see them going for someone outwith the Scottish game. Bring a different set of ideals to the situation. Something that was suggested in a chat at work today was maybe pooling referees with the Welsh top flight and perhaps Leagues 1 and 2 in England to give a better variation of officials. Probably not much difference between these officials and those we use in the Prem just now. Refs from Republic and Northern Ireland also suggested but that brings more conspiracy theories.
  24. Actually wondered if we were targeting that with shooting low. It was something people on here have highlighted in the last few seasons and seemed noticeable that even blocked shots seemed to be going low.
  25. There is clearly an issue with the park and drainage at Dens but Dundee had people working on the park from 0500 this has been acknowledged by both clubs and the SFA. What more are they supposed to do? Issue for me lies with the officials. The local ref could have made a decision as it was never going to be playable. There is an issue highlighted and Dundee have asked for an inspection but Don Robertson shows up at his normal time.
