  1. This was mentioned in today's Guardian in an interview with John Niven as the book he's currently reading. I thought I recognised the title on here (since it was a game I used to play in Cumnock in my younger days!) https://www.theguardian.com/books/2023/oct/13/john-niven-my-comfort-read-alan-clarks-diaries Well done Dillinger!
  2. Seems a bit of an unnecessary dig. I don’t doubt his enthusiasm for Killie. It was probably the high point of his career with many excellent committed performances. Do we need to write all of that off because he went to St Mirren?
  3. Telling people you’re going to spend lots of money is also a questionable negotiating strategy. If it’s offset by improved season ticket sales then great, but I’d expect that would be achieved partly through people on a high after Friday, and also from executing good, well planned transfer business throughout the summer, not from an interview in the papers with the chairman. I like Billy a lot, and overall he’s been good for the club. There’s loads of excitement round the club right now which is amazing. Personally, I don’t agree with his approach on this topic.
  4. Bit foolish to advertise we’ve got a record budget no?
  5. Of course, it’s a completely unrealistic scenario. Last night was a promotion game. But just allow me to pretend for one minute. Imagine how renowned our support would he if every game had that vibe. What would Killie FC become if every game felt like a promotion game!!
  6. The following is intended only as a far fetched figment of my imagination and not meant to be construed as a realistic ambition! I realise that, as a provincial club, we already over achieve in terms of gates and success . Imagine every Killie home game had crowds like last night in terms of size and fervour. How many times would we inspire Killie to build momentum and pressure and watch the opposition start to self doubt and eventually crumble. How many times would we roar Killie on to late victories! Imagine the calibre of player we could attract with the increased gate receipts and sponsorship revenue. We’d become a more attractive destination for players and tv companies resulting in more tv money and likely more prize money. Our ground would be regarded as a cauldron inspiring awe and jealousy of rival fans. Ayr fans would be especially bitter! The famous Rugby Park atmosphere would be referenced by all incoming players cited as a strong pull for joining ahead of other SPL rival clubs. I think I had too much to drink last night!
  7. Amazing commitment and will to win in the second half. To turn the game round and keep on pushing until we sealed the win against a team playing for their lives is a big achievement. Brilliant Killie!
  8. The result starts to look even better considering we were up against 20 men ?
  9. What an intriguing post! It seems that Drew Wylie has a spokesman! And, better still, reading between the lines he’s been a bit of a twat but feels remorseful when the booze has worn off. Who knew Drew was such a complex character! And just what does Oldkillie have to do with it all? Great stuff!
  10. A pint of nice beer while watching the game unfold from your seat
  11. Could be Drew Wylie ? get in Killie!
  12. Lorielius, I thought it was a very interesting summary. These are the kind of stats teams are using these days to analyse their performance. In betting terms, past xg performance is seen as better indicator of future results than past results. So to me, our xg for is an area of concern. I thought you summarised the stats very well.
