  1. We'll never beat the game where it focused on a bald linesman head for a whole half...
  2. The random pull backs are giving me sea sickness - brilliant they can can use that system but it's really weird sometimes.
  3. Absolutely breesed this - sort of professional performance you want in a cup game. Think the full backs are overlapping even better than in previous games. Might be the opposition, but the positioning seems much better and Pinnock and Haunstrup seem to be forming a good wee partnership. Cracking ball from Dicker for the penalty. Rest some legs and see it out second half and jobs a good un.
  4. Suspect Wright is using this as a game to reinforce what he wants to do with that first team and what they have been working on in training. McGowan having a knock seems the most likely reason for Millen, but he's our backup up right back and some minutes are usuful as he might have to come back in at some point.
  5. Looking a wee bit like the start of a familiar Hughes slide. Here's hoping anyway...
  6. Good result from our point of view tonight? Or wounded animal Cpujnty next week?
  7. Adding to this thread after watching the Rovers tonight - really wouldn't fancy facing them in a playoff...
  8. Enjoyed that game and also thought I'd be pretty nervous playing either in a playoff. Both had guys beating players on the wing and getting good balls into the box and creative players in the middle. Murray for Dunfermline and McDaid for Dundee would be pretty useful in our squad at the moment
  9. What on earth does Clarke do to SoD? From getting embarrassed by Mitch Pinnock to casually beating David Alaba in one on one's...
  10. Misread your post. I agree that is something I've valued this season.
  11. I think that would be a really good gesture.
  12. A bit of a CQN for the magnificent Gorgie boys... Very pleasing
  13. Wright will know how to use these ties to our advantage. Huge opportunity for guys like Tsh and Oakley and make a case for starting and push the current eleven. Getting goals and confidence in those games would help too.
  14. The only bit of Dumbarton news you need today...
  15. Think there's a point in that about why Wright is sticking with Dicker and Power. I don't think it's that either have been awful, it's been that they've been exposed most of the season. Now with support from fullbacks and players scoring the good starts to outweigh the bad with them in terms of tackling, experience etc.
  16. Brilliant stuff. We shouldn't doubt Wright, team put out there to do a job and did it. Aside from all the obvious, some quiet things in there that are really positive - McGowan after a few weeks with a proper manager looked excellent I thought. Haunstrup better too - class pass to start one of the scoring moves. Defending for the goal was rank, but defending throughout the 90 much improved. And that seems to be a settled team that players can get used to. There's benefit in that, even it means guys playing we maybe wouldn't expect. Much better understanding of where each other were on the pitch. Given where we are now, I think a couple of wins might be enough to keep off bottom. But County absolutely the target now.
  17. Who is that and what has he done with Mitch Pinnock?! f**king hell
  18. Its incremental but its there. 57% possession and nine attempts on goal to six. That's better than how barren and passive we were under Dyer - there were games we didn't have nine attempts never mind halves... Needs much more in an attacking sense though. I can just about see the defensive shape being better most of the time but can't see all that much different from midfield to striker.
  19. Don't think this is as bad as some making out. Defending is so bad for the equaliser, but we are carrying a threat at least today. Wish they had more confidence to get the ball to feet. Quality of the players is telling. We've had a good few breakaway and made completely the wrong decisons whereas Wells better attackers have capitalised. Really don't see the "players don't care" that others are seeing. Players aren't good enough sure, but they all look like they trying to get us back in front.
  20. Don't necessarily disagree with that - but what's the alternative in those positions? Pierrick still coming back to fitness. Oakley or Whitehall off a striker would be fine too but not sure how much difference that actually makes.
  21. For all the doom-mongering - Dicker for Mulumbu or Tsh is the only change I'd make given the players available. Hoping Wright has seen something in this setup. Not sure what the shape is - Pinnock off Lafferty and McKenzie on the left? Or vice versa?
  22. I think there is a point to be made in lack of succession planning from Clarke himself, although not a huge one. I think the club missed out on a massive opportunity in not getting pre-contracts in that summer. My guess is that Clarke saw the honourable thing to do was to leave the new manager a blank slate, which I get to an extent. But what manager would have complained if a good keeper and Declan Gallagher were waiting for them? That summer definitely isn't on Clarke - we had the resources to do fine in terms of recruitment - but it didn't help.
  23. Absolutely this I don't think his comments on sectarianism etc make him a hypocrite - I imagine he'd see himself going in there and changing the culture to the extent that he can. Having a manager go to one of those clubs and not just toe the party line would be welcome as a start.
  24. Is that Pierrick? Still time for a rabbit out of the hat with him being good I wonder? I live in hope...
  25. I'm not so sure. I think there's a reasonable chance us and Accies win a couple, lose a couple and it all comes down to the head to head for eleventh at least.
