  1. Have to say I miss the pre season games against English sides. The League Cup groups are mince. I can even remember us playing West Brom at Rugby Park and it was live on Setanta, how often have we had a pre season game shown live. Can't have happened often.

    WTF

Didn't realise that's how that worked out. I though we just sold Nish to make some money on him and didn't bring in a striker cause MJ was a skinflint and he thought we could avoid relegation without signing anyone as Gretna were good as certain to go down. Always though he essentially wrote off the rest of that season. Didn't remember us trying to get someone in.

    WTF

Didn't we then play out the season without a striker and Danny Invincible up front.

    WTF

Sorry if this has been done before on a where are they now thread but I just saw this and thought this has to be the most bizarre ex player career change I've heard of. Not since Allan Russell got hired to teach Harry Kane how to score goals have I been as gobsmacked. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm8507926/?ref_=tt_cl_t7 Another though hit me that he maybe shouldn't be the only ex Killie player now living under an assumed identity.

    Hibs

Technically and pedantically they beat us in the league cup on pens
  6. Goes to show that wherever you go after Killie is a step down. Anfield!
  7. The football equivalent
  8. Think he was offered to us as we had an advert out looking for a striker on one of those online sites club use to do deals.
  9. Gary Dicker, this is what a s**t show looks like. Not what we had sitting 5th
  10. They are trying to get players in but just can't get any deals done.
  11. Unfortunately it appears we are bodging January like we did the summer and this season is now a total write off. Our recruitment vs other teams of similar budget is pretty terrible.
  12. Think only Boyd and Paul Wright have scored more top flight goals for us post promotion under Burns.
  13. 16 won't happen as there are too few games. Nobody is going to vote for going from 38 to 30 games a season and losing 4 homes gates. 14 is possible with a 6/8 split after 26 games. 18 won't happen as there aren't enough good teams and money is split too many ways. Also reduces the Old Firm games to two per season which would kybosh broadcast deals.
  14. She in particular was a lot of talk and little action.
  15. One extreme to the other in the last two appointments. Good that we've gone back to our tried and trusted method of selecting a manager given it's level of success with Jig and Locke. Hope as I do with every new manager that he is our best manager ever but this appointment just looks a lazy and quite desperate decision.
  16. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/livingston-fcs-david-martindale-cough-13178358 Do you really want this guy?
  17. Depends on what he counts as a s**tshow. Maybe he thinks laps of the pitch then five a side is a good training session. It's not as if our players don't have previous for moaning about top class training methods that loads of top sides use given the cryochamber was laughed at and the training at the same time as kick offs was knocked on the head by Jig when Lee Clark left. Do wonder if we have more than a few players who are SPFL level trainers and if asked to do more training or more advanced training where they have to pay attention for longer periods of time they can't be arsed or just can't take it in. Everyone to a man said Clarke kept it simple and everyone knew what they had to do. Maybe our guys just can't take in stuff that isn't spelled out for them in very simple terms and stuff from Angelo went over their heads as he was used to working with a higher level player with better grasp of more tactical concepts.
  18. We made a mistake in sacking Angelo without having someone ready to come in, as such we're drifting and wasting time and games stuck in limbo. Cold as it was the move made at Spurs to punt Pochetino and get Mourinho in the next day showed planning, we just wanted shot of our guy with no clue what to do next. Fowler is straight into the deep end as within weeks of him arriving it looks like he pulled the trigger on Angelo and the longer we go without an appointment the more it falls to him get players sorted for problem positions in Jan. Big test of Fow as a DOF within a few weeks of being a rookie in that type of role.
  19. I think we need to keep the heid a bit here. We're coming off the back of our best season in 50 years and that has let to a lot of raised expectations that were almost impossible to meet. We had an outlier season and returning more to our normal type of season. Clarke is gone and a lot of folk need to get over that, possibly the players as well. All being said we are top 6 at the turn of the year with hopefully some Greg Taylor money to finance some signings in Jan. That along with a new manager to galvanise the team may well see us secure our 3rd consecutive top 6 finish. That means good times for us, far better than the days of being around 10th or 11th under Locke and AJ. While our white knight left to go to Hampden we are still in a better position than we have been for a good while albeit not as amazing as last year.
  20. How did William Gros play so many games????
  21. Win against Motherwell and he'll have almost as many points in 11 games as Gary Locke managed in his first two rounds of games in his first full season.
  22. I think we are still very much a work in progress. We are far better than we were at the start of the season but with new signings finding their feet and increasing their contribution our potential is maybe more exciting than our current performances. Hoping that guys like Jackson and st clair will give us something during Nov and dec. Then we see what angelo delivers with time and finance on his side in jan. We are third and have room to still improve which is a great place to be.
  23. Probably matches how many he scored at Rugby Park while playing for us.
  24. Think a problem is that even some of our perceived strong players like the Celtic players of forest and mcgregor aren't actually that great at international level. Regularly look average for Celtic against European opposition yet are supposed to be amazing players for Scotland.
