  1. This bias thing just isn't true. Everyone says Beaton is biased towards Rangers yet before last Wednesday he was the only ref to give a penalty against them. And then another supposed Rangers fan in Dickinson gave us a penalty and overlooked one that should have been given when Mayo handled. Incompetence and not being good enough? Absolutely. Bias? Nah.
  2. I never said that Vassell is exempt from criticism, just that I feel his performances haven't been anywhere near as some folk are making out. If his scoring rate was higher then with his physicality he'd be at a much higher level than Kilmarnock. You need to make sacrifice's in aspects of players' games at our level. Vass is an important point in how we play - his physicality and presence, even if he's not playing well on the ball e.g., occupies defenders and clears space for guys like Watkins, Armstrong, Kennedy etc to burst through. We can, and probably will, alter our system as KVV gets fitter to get him into the team but to say that Vassell hasn't contributed recently is just untrue.
  3. He's still only 23. Won't reach his peak for a few years yet and has really improved in recent months. That save on Saturday from Mellon was world class.
  4. Makes you think that we might be at least a bit of the way down the road with deals (or at the very least he's had positive talks) if he's bringing it up at a presser.
  5. All three would be excellent pieces of business. In terms of likelihood, I'd say Findlay is the most likely. Pay Oxford something to take him off their hands and the delay in the summer was because we were close to this being permanent anyway. Ndaba has all the attributes to be a very good player at Premiership level and Dennis, after a shaky start, has really impressed me as his confidence has grown.
  6. Huge shout to Will Dennis for the save from Mellon on Saturday. Wasn't until you see it on KA1 Cam that you realise he tips it onto the bar. An unreal save and if that goes in we don't take the point.
  7. We tried VAR, it's not working, so time to take an extended break from its use until it's streamlined and perfected as much as it can be. Spend the money on better training. The SFA won't agree until there's a unified fan voice coming out against it though.
  8. Can I ask a genuine question here, what have you actually seen from KVV in a Killie jersey to say that he's anywhere near fit enough or should be ousting anyone? If you say that he scored a tonne for Motherwell and use that as your rationale then that's absolutely fine, but this idea that Van Veen has came on in every game and looked like a Rolls Royce is just untrue. Every game he's had a few nice touches but then done something daft like against Rangers where he blindly played a cross field pass to nobody which gave Rangers a chance. Vassell does that and he's crucified. We know that the manager puts a lot of emphasis on fitness and KVV has looked like he's towing a caravan since he joined us. I know some say the same of Vassell but for me that's his strange body shape that makes people believe he's unfit when he probably isn't. That's not to say that Vassell is undroppable or that he's in sparkling form. But his strengths are crucial to how we play at the moment. He's bullied Aberdeen almost every time he's played against them for Kilmarnock including the game a few weeks ago when it was strength and composure in the box that led to the second goal. I get that now Rory isn't playing every week and Liam Donnelly is fit and contributing that Kilmarnock fans need a scapegoat (for whatever reason) and for a lot of fans it's Vass. Fine, you're entitled to hold that view. But the constant sniping is getting beyond a joke now especially when the only player that's looked like a threat off the bench in recent weeks has been Innes Cameron and I don't see people clamouring for his inclusion. By the end of the season I fully expect that KVV will probably be the starting striker alongside Watkins for some games and Vass for others but I've seen zero evidence to suggest that time is now.
  9. I think it was a red but I've seen worse offences win an appeal so worth doing it IMO.
  10. What a first half that was. Letting Souttar and Goldson have the ball and keeping our shape everywhere else has left them frustrated beyond belief. Special note for the crowd tonight btw. From the first whistle we've been so up for this and it's an atmosphere (especially first half) I've not seen here in many a year. Let's all keep this up for another 45 and take a huge three points home.
  11. Never seen a more Rangers looking Rangers fan that this boy.
  12. Okay mate, but I assume you get breaks... Either way, no need for this to descend into a stupid argument. Good luck if you head down tonight in getting one 👍
  13. Strange one, as a friend of mine got her ticket on Saturday... Ticket office was open Monday and Tuesday too when it would have been quieter and you'd have been more likely to get through.
  14. No system is going to be foolproof and some people will always find their way in. All we can do is make it as difficult as possible and then hope that the boys on the park make their little visit as miserable as possible. I'm sure the folk who witnessed Killie beating their side won't be in a hurry to do it again next time!
  15. Superb! Changed days from the past when you'd regularly see folk in Rangers or Celtic gear going into the shop and getting home end tickets. Great work from those in the ticket office.
  16. I dunno what else to say to you. Plenty of people on here have tried to help you out by detailing how you could get tickets online. Ticket information was emailed out a fortnight ago but obviously doesn't apply to you as a non-ST holder, however the club posted on their socials and website on the 15th how to get tickets with detailed step-by-step instructions. I started a thread on the 14th here saying that tickets were now available online. I understand that not everyone can get to Kilmarnock and that's fair enough, but there has been a home match with tickets available too. Your pal who has a ST could have got you a ticket then in person or online at any point. The club can't be held responsible for people leaving things to the last minute to get tickets. The girls in the office are great though and I'm sure if you went with your pal before the game tonight and explained your situation that they might even make an exception for you.
  17. Emails came out on the 14th February. The link in that will bring you to a landing page, put your pals ST reference in the promo code but, hit apply and it'll bring you straight into the seat selector.
  18. And how do you know this? Especially when we've had Killie fans been turned away for not meeting the criteria. Do you not know a ST holder to send you their reference number to buy online?
  19. Kenny Miller, who I imagine will be on comms tonight, managed to mention the pitch 8 times on Superscoreboard last night. Unbelievable restraint, I imagine tonight will be double figures.
  20. Apologies if I've misread your post but are you saying that you don't think violence at football needs stamped out?
  21. If they aren't then the ticket office shouldn't sell them tickets. As this thread has shown that's been the case for this game.
  22. It doesn't have to be one or the other and I don't think anyone is even doing that. The consensus seems to be that everyone appreciates the atmosphere that they're bringing to games but wishes they didn't get involved in needless pish like smashing up seats or getting into fights outside the ground.
  23. If I was a player I'd absolutely love to play for Derek. Clear to me that his man management skills are fantastic and guys want to run through brick walls for him. Even had Ndaba in the press saying that he's one of the best and they all love him. I'm not saying he's bad tactically, far from it, but if you were able to match the man management and tactical sides of the game then he'd be managing at the very top. We're lucky to have him as our manager and boys like Watson are unbelievably lucky to have such a good one so early in their careers. It won't always be that way, that's for sure!
  24. The 1869 banner was in that section.
