What is clear is 3 at the back does not work. And you'd think he'd know that by now, the way we play/results we get when he does it. We played 4 at the back vs Rangers and Celtic and... Well, we played the best we've ever done under McInnes.

But, but.... We re-signed Donnelly!! Weirdest signing ever tbf, let him keep his options open all summer and then when nothing comes along "acht, don't worry Liam, we'll take you back" Really shown his desire to be here with that...not to mention how poor he is, but that's somewhat of an aside to the decision to actually re-sign him.

Guessing he's pointing out the sheer contrast to what it was like two weeks ago when, after a couple of good results, there was talk about how good we were, how all was forgiven with the manager and how no-one will ever doubt him again, and how (tongue in cheek) we were going to win the league. Now normal order has resumed, people will be calling for big Del's resignation Monday morning. Referee aside, we were piss poor today and looked like the team of last season - which isn't that unfathomable, when it's still the backbone of the team from last season

Technically, the date changes at 00:00 (midnight). So "midnight on Friday" is the minute after 2359 on Thursday. But nobody ever uses it like that, so yes - confusing!!

I understand your point, kind of. Are you disputing his (Durrant's specifically) legendary status with Killie because he doesn't talk about us in the media? In all fairness, I don't recall him being on Sky Sports / Sportscene / Super Scoreboard talking about Rangers either tbh. Possibly one of the most gifted players I have, or will see, pull on our shirt - don't think I'd run him down just because he's quiet in the media.

All of this!! The associations of that strip and that day are tremendous - I even remember where I was when the result came through (waiting in Chinese carryout when it came on TV, my dad sat outside in the car listening on the radio). Also, a pretty big (future) Killie legend on the bench for Rangers that day too - just hadn't realised the error of his ways yet. Only two subs is wild, mind. Imagine that today...

I had this on my wall for years after that match!

Good man, thanks 👍

Folks, the content at HT on KillieTV is great - the media lads have been fantastic for the past few months again. Watching for the past few weeks, there is one advert that comes on and I love the version of the song - does anyone know who sings it (Shazam comes up a blank!) and how I could purchase a copy?? Mega link to short clip of video

Speaks well - and highly of the club and teammates, can see him doing more press work over the season. Fantastic start he's had on the pitch too.

I have to agree with you. I have debated joining the Trust on a number of occasions as, like many, I want to give to the club any way I can. However, and I dont know if this exists purely on this forum or outwith too, but it all does feel and seem rather "culty" to me. Say anything negative and you are quickly down-voted and argued with - bit of a hive mentality springs into action and can end up getting quite personal. They do some good work with the club, that can't be argued - but I will continue to support in other ways and stay out the clique. (I'm sure they'll miss me greatly!)

And despite being 32 Watkins reminded me of Greg Stewart the way he split open the Celtic defence with his run leading to the goal yesterday. Not fast, but skilful - a few more games to get match fit and he's going to be a brilliant signing.

KFCSA Killie 1 Celtic 0 Viaplay Cup KFCSA Man of the match 20/08/23

Agreed. And, in a total opposite of recent times, the midfield was incredible. Watson, Watkins, Magennis - all played superbly. -
Fantastic read, I throughly enjoyed it too - very inspirational. On a similar note, Pat Nevin's "Football and How to Survive It" is similarly encapsulating, for different reasons granted. Both great reads and highly recommended!

Exactly this. I'd rather play on grass, but while we have a "competitive advantage" we should use it - I love when other (usually losing) teams bring it up, as you say it's in their heads before a ball is even kicked. Has commercial benefits for now too, although those aren't as publicised/talked about as they once we're at AGMs etc, so that may have tailed off!
-
What has he said that isnt accurate?
-
I didn't realise this was still as big a bone of contention as it clearly is - was it Sutton and Miller at it yesterday, and even the Daily Ranger having a pop in their match report today. As others have said, I'd prefer grass but if we make this the "thing" that gets under people's skin/in their head before they come here, then all the better. And as has also been said - they never mention(ed) it when they were winning on it!

I love the forum 😂 Fantastic result tonight, but next time he subs on 2 defenders for 2 attackers in the last 10 mins to defend a 1-goal lead against a non-league team, this place will go into meltdown! So many comments tonight saying that "that's as good a performance as anything Steve Clarke had" Steve Clarke did it for a full season (or more), once McInnes does it for half of that, let's start making those kind of mad statements. For now, let's just enjoy the win and keep some balance/perspective!

He did/was. Some fantastic work by the ground medics and club doc.

Enjoy how you refer to them as The Rangers each time 😄
