I support DM and his management/ background team and hope they and Killie have a highly successful season - however, I think it is extremely difficult to look beyond Billy and Phyllis as our best assets.

The current board come on for a lot of undue stick, normally when people they employ to do a job don't do it well, they are a big asset to the club. The biggest asset however are the fans, always have been, always will be. Sure we have our fair share of wallopers and people being dicks at times, you get that in every walk of life, but without the fans in their many forms and guises doing whatever it takes to keep the show on the road, we'd have shut up shop years ago. And I mean that across the board, we're a broad church with a common goal and Joe Bloggs buying their season ticket and playing the Killie Lotto or buying a pie and bovril is every bit as important in sustaining the club as any of the directors who have come and gone over the years. The fans are the only constant at the club, without them there is no club.

throwing Murray in completely out of the blue

Sorry to single out your post for a quote here but it just jarred my memory about how many times I've seen it said that Murray was brought into the team out of the blue etc. How else does a player come back into the team if he's been missing for a while? Murray has been getting game time with the reserves and played the majority of the 90 minutes a few days before the Celtic match, tried on both flanks, and watched by the manager. He's match fit and it was decided that he would be started. The problem was nothing to do with bringing him into the team out of the blue, the problem was that the player's decision making (Like DM) is poor, and that was made worse by us setting up with the wrong formation.

  3. I'm not sure how Livingston treat these games but the quality of their reserve team is nowhere near their first team which is why we looked so much more dominant than the recent defeat by Hibs, plus of course we had more senior player featuring this time out. Power did stand out in this game but I'm afraid we did not learn a lot from it. Wales took his goal really well and continues to improve and I was glad to see them give him the whole game as that's what will bring him on. Warnock I'm not sure about, his heart is certainly in it but he keeps dropping really deep to get the ball and I'm unsure if that's due to impatience on his part or he's been instructed to do so.

Sanders did okay but his passing was lacking and I can see why he is not a first choice for DM. Alston floated about and was Alston, not much to report there. The rest of the younger players didn't look out of place at this level and that can only be a good thing. One thing that perplexed me was that Fraser Murray spent the first half on the right wing and didn't see much of the ball, but in the second half they switched him to the left wing (didn't see that much more of the ball there either to be fair) and put McEnroy out on the right. What is it with McEnroy that we just try and shoe horn him in anywhere that needs filled? No wonder he looks particularly disinterested most of the time and then gets benched.

  4. I've been to a lot of youth and reserve fixtures this year and IMHO Bobby Wales is good enough for the first team subs bench but not quite at the starting stage yet. I think he's a great prospect but only if he's weaned in over time and not dropped in out of nowhere into a struggling team (the same goes for Warnock in my eyes). Kid gloves approach will be the best for both the player and the club in the long term, we need to nurture his talent and bring him through next season. The trialist, the same trialist as the last game, is far from the required standard we need and my guess is he will never sign for us. I can also see quite a few being released at the end of the season. By contrast Watson has been a total stick out and I can't for the life of me understand how he's not been more involved in the first team this season, maybe we should just be glad that he's been given the nod now. He rolled his ankle in training this week and just got it strapped up and wouldn't entertain the possibility of not playing. If he doesn't start on Saturday I will be amazed.

100% spot on @Thebigguy68 - football, from a business perspective, isn’t as complex as people like to make it out to be. From a business perspective, the relative size of football clubs is comparatively small but yet - due in large part to the fan base and their connection with the clubs - they have a public profile that is way bigger than many other businesses in other sectors that might be much bigger.

Just for reference, Killie’s turnover in 2021/21 was “just” £3,002K, and had been £4,841K in 2019/20 and £6,643K in 2018/19.

In comparison, Celtic turnover for 2020/21 had been £60,781K, down from £70,233K in 2019/20. Rangers turnover for 2020/21 had been £47,746K, down from £59,033K in 2019/20. Both clubs much higher than Killie’s but, all the same, not mega in comparison to a lot of businesses elsewhere in Scotland and the UK (and further afield) that some folks on here might very well be involved in.

Of course, turnover isn’t the only measure that could/ should be used…….indeed, I am reminded of the old saying that “turnover is vanity, profit is sanity, but cash is reality”…….

Looking at our fan base, we must have loads of folks who have lots of relevant and useful experience that could help supplement the skills and experience we have on the Board and at the club currently? How open-minded would BB, PM and CJ be to some kind of “management committee” getting established to help share the load and to allow new thinking and ideas to be brought to the table? Of course, it would be vital to get the “right kind” of folks involved but looking through the Trust membership, for example, there is an individual there who holds a very senior position in a massive UK public company, others who have worked (or are working) in big businesses, and others who are owners of their own businesses etc. That’s lots of experience that could be “tapped” into - all from folks who have a direct affinity and linkage to our great club and have its best interests at heart.

Okay we get it. You're looking to get involved. I would suggest the best way to do that wouldn't be to slaughter the board at every single opportunity you get on here and maybe you'd improve your chances.

  6. Bring back Drew! I always thought he was a click bait character but I don't get why everyone takes him so seriously, we all know folk like this, especially from the football. He keeps it real in here and it always made me laugh.

  7. Signing the likes of McInnes and Lafferty was an expensive gamble, and you can't have your cake and eat it. We either want the club to invest and try and improve or we don't. We're going off the deep end here over a fiver a skull, the price of a pint in the pub these days, but we'll be the first to moan when we can't afford to compete in the transfer market. It's the same price as any other first team game, should we start giving away tickets to all those as well? Everyone would like a full stadium, its not going to happen any time soon, we could drop the price to zero and it still wouldn't have much of an effect so all these brilliant ideas are not so brilliant and just lose us a fortune, every game has outlays as well. It might work for Hibs but they are a city team and have a much bigger support and catchment area than we do, we've tried stuff like this before and it has failed. The only way to fill the stadium is to play attractive football and get results over a sustained period.

It’s really only when you go as far back to 31/12/12 you begin to see anything different or “funky” in that there are two separate holdings being 10,000 shares under the name of the “Killie Trust” in folio reference T23A and a further 35,050 shares in folio K20A and listed under the full proper legal name of the Trust…..

So in short, you now know what I am "on about" and you were wrong that the share have always been under one name. Could have just said that, or checked in the first place before trying to make me look like a chump.

I see that you have asked the Trust and the Club, so what did they say and why are you not telling us that?

With all due respect @TommyG I think it is you who needs to get your facts straight…….

Going back to the whole bank debt/ hotel deal in 2014, the community “sop” angle saw the establishment of the Community Engagement Board (“CEB”) - go back and check the new articles of association from back then and you’ll see it referenced.

KCST did not, in fact, come into being until the latter part of 2015. Just FYI, but you and others might be interested in knowing/ noting that the 163K shareholding that KCST has in the club has NEVER been disclosed or referenced at all in any way, shape or form in any of the accounts that have been prepared and submitted to Companies House by KCST…….I have to say I find that very strange indeed…….

Yes you're correct, I got my initials mixed up. Nice of you to pick up on that and completely ignore that you got it wrong in regards the trust shares, you know the shares we are actually discussing here that you referenced.

  10. 56 minutes ago, AliBaba said:

Not too sure - to be honest - what you are on about @TommyG of there being “two lots of shares”. As far as I’m aware, the Trust shareholding has always been registered in its formal legal name of the Kilmarnock Supporters’ Society Limited. I’m wondering if, perhaps, you are getting confused with references in the register to Kilmarnock Community Sports Trust and it’s separate shareholding of over 163K shares?

You seem pretty sure about a lot of things but you have this one completely wrong. There were two sets of shares allocated to the trust, one under each name, maybe a bit of forensic accounting should be your next angle. I'll be happy for anyone from the trust to confirm this. I'm certainly not confused with the KCST which was (initially) a shadow organisation set up to appease the bank that there was a "community" angle when Johnston was pocketing the cash from the sale of the hotel which should have gone to our club. Where were you when the real criminals were getting away with it?

  11. 1 hour ago, AliBaba said:

That said, you would also like to think that the club - in filing its 31/12/21 confirmation statement - would be expected to get its list of shareholders and shareholdings correct. As I’ve said, something is not quite right and there is a disparity that needs to get resolved and clarified.

Would you expect it seeing that until recently the trust had two lots of shares, under the Killie Trust and the Kilmarnock Supporters Society Ltd? The whole thing went arse for elbow under the administration of Michael Johnston and his tin pot pseudo secretary Kirsten who wasn't fit to take a school register. I'm surprised any of it has been sorted out and I dare say it will be a long time given the amount of shareholders we have and the details, or lack of them, that are available. Going on the amount of shares that the majority shareholders have I don't really see what a great deal of difference any of this is going to make anyway, like the guy above said, mountain out of a molehill. Have you seriously not got anything better to do with your time?

  12. Don't shoot the messenger. Has to be said, the reaction is pretty much as expected. The guy wasn't looking for sympathy, he was basically saying that the atmosphere can turn really nasty and no one wants to work in conditions like that if they don't have to. Be pissy about it all you like, if we are perceived by players etc to be a bad lot then it will put them off signing, that's just a fact. One look at these forum and on social media and potential investors would run for the hills.

Go on, you know you want to  - "f**k them then", "we don't need them" etc etc etc We need to be smarter and sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.

the whole landscape of RP and the Club as a whole doesn’t look appealing to any investors, add this Covid situation and anyone would need to be bonkers to put money into a club.

This x100. We also don't look appealing to any decent managers or players because we are finally starting to live up to what I thought was an unfair reputation of being a fickle support. Spoke to a player a few days ago and he admitted it wasn't exactly a happy camp and that some of them just don't really want to be at Rugby Park due to the bad atmosphere.

They may simply want to use their credits for one season, if they have lost their job or are under pressure from debts incurred due to covid. That would allow them to do one thing they enjoy for a season.

Maybe the players and staff simply want to get paid for allowing people to do the one thing they enjoy for a season?

Like I said, I’m sure they are well aware of that. Like I also said, feeding a family is more important than a few quid to a football club for some people.

You think the club don’t have a host of employees who all need to feed their families as well?

Which people.as said the poll done during the week has shown most fans arent looking for a free season ticket and the very few that are maybe struggling

The very few that are struggling, they spent the money last year never expecting to get it back. Sorry but I just don’t get why they would be expecting it back now. They’ve had access to all the games, okay not live but that’s actually probably saved them money over the course of the season, no travel, no pub, no food, programmes etc. Now they want money back? If I don’t take anything back then that money won’t go to the club, it will go to paying back someone else. Sorry but that’s all kinds of wrong.

If they accepted £1m for Taylor then they should have to explain themselves to the fans .... as much as I loathe the man MJ would not have been buttf**kt like that.

Absolute crap. The same MJ that signed a 50 year old one legged guy without a medical? (This may be a slight exaggeration)
