  1. Cal is indeed the man! Wishing him all the very best. Undoubtedly the best move for the future of the KC. Full explanation here: https://open.substack.com/pub/killiechronicle/p/callum-scott-joins-the-killie-chronicle?r=6y1dc&utm_medium=ios&shareImageVariant=overlay
  2. Hi folks, For those who haven’t already seen the announcement on the Killie Chronicle, I’m leaving my current job to move on to a new opportunity. I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone for all the support over the past 18+ months, even stretching back to the Rugby Road Gates newsletter via The Herald and before then. It’s been a pleasure to try something new, and I’m genuinely thrilled with the way the KC has been received and respected among the fan base. I’m very confident it’ll continue to thrive in the future, and please remember that without your backing it would not work. Sure I’ll catch up with many of you soon. KTID 💙
  3. Very sad to hear this. Spoke to him the odd time over the years and he always humoured my papa, which put a smile on his face. A lovely guy. RIP Matt.
  4. That’s the punishment for a red card under the ‘denial of a goalscoring opportunity’ rule.
  5. Kiltie won’t be dropped on current form. Can see Thompson coming straight back in. Reckon McCann will go: Roos Larsen ESB Deas Thompson Tshibola Lyons Polworth Kiltie TJJ Curtis (permitted to drift wide and get at Tierney)
  6. Larsen is fine, he’ll be playing.
  7. They have, but he doesn’t want to go to Aberdeen, as referenced in KC earlier. Wouldn’t totally rule Dons out but if player doesn’t want the move the it’s highly unlikely. Reckon it’ll come down to who offers the most favourable compensation package in the summer.
  8. I’m not really sure what that’s got to do with it? I literally just said he had his time and that for him it probably was the right moment for a fresh start. My remark is about the unwarranted abuse he faced throughout the final few seasons of his time at RP right up until he left and even afterwards.
  9. Innes was hounded out the door (by some fans, not all) for far less than what’s succeeded him. I’m not saying the big man didn’t get his chance, or that it wasn’t the right time for him to move on, but comments like this are extremely unfair in my opinion. Good luck to him.
  10. Presser has been moved to Friday morning this week.
  11. Ewan Paton. 28. Originally from Dundonald but living in Borrheid. Killie fan since I was about seven years old thanks to my dear papa, whom I attended games in the Moffat, then East Stand with for just shy of 20 years. Question my career choice in the media every week… Sports writer for The Herald but better known for the Killie Chronicle. Below average 5s player but would take anyone in a badminton match.
  12. Maintain what I reported earlier this week. As others rightly pointed out, the delay is related to Rangers’ Europa League involvement. Not privy to the exact details of when Rangers will send him on his way, but the deal is agreed.
  13. Firstly, I appreciate the kind words. Baz has been in touch in the past to discuss this and I know he and the other moderators do their best to keep tabs, and will remove anything that’s been blatantly copy & pasted. On the premise of your point, Gaby & I don’t feel differently. Of course, we have absolutely no issue with folk discussing our stories, such as on the transfer thread, just as people would with any other mainstream media source. If anything, it actually gives me a wee buzz when I see people referencing our stuff and they ultimately know it can be trusted as reliable information - that’s one of our primary aims. However, there is a balance to be had between a reference to our articles and giving away nearly every single detail when that sort of intel is behind the paywall for a reason. To reiterate, we love that Killie fans trust us and enjoy reading our stuff. But like you point out, our model is to encourage as many readers as we can to subscribe as paid-for members, and we need to protect the value of that as best we can. I know some people don’t like paywalls in journalism, but that’s just the way it is in the industry now I’m afraid. I’m sure most people appreciate we do make a fair amount of our content free to read too, or at least our matchday coverage every week. I’ll always make the effort to interact on the forums when I can, and I certainly don’t mind giving away wee snippets here and there when possible. I would just kindly ask that our readers are conscious of how much information they’re sharing on here or Facebook in relation to our stories that are marked as ‘paid,’ as the last thing I want is for other subs to feel like they’re not getting the full value of the product they’re forking out for. Without trying to dominate this thread, just wanted to finish by saying a massive thanks for all the support from everyone, whether fully signed-up members or more casual readers. Our growth in the past year has been great, and we’re excited about what more is to come. Cheers 💙
  14. Lyall Cameron won’t be joining, believe it’ll be England or Aberdeen for him. As for Curtis, if Killie weren’t to get him, there’s another two or three teams in the Prem who will gladly take. Might not work, but he’s done enough in his limited game time at Rangers to merit a top-flight loan.
  15. None taken. Expecting to see movement this week before Dundee. How much, I genuinely don’t know.
