  1. I'd not be disappointed if Nouble signed, but I'm basing that on the recent form of Vass more than anything. Would I have Vass or Nouble as the man holding the ball up and dominating defenders... just now, there seems no comparison between the two. A fit Vass changes things, but I doubt we are ever going to see a fit KV playing for Killie.
  2. Burke is as close to a Killie legend as you're likely to get over the past decade. His value on and off the park can not be overstated. When picking best Killie 11 I opted for McLaren and Mitchell on the wings... but the fact that Chris Burke being omitted from that team was my biggest disappointment says everything about how I view him.
  3. If we finished third and got guaranteed group football in Europe the money alone would change the entire club. Probably add an extra 500+ season tickets bringing us closer to the 6k mark. If, and it's a massive if, McInnes will eclipse Clarke in my eyes... something I'd not have said a year ago.
  4. If Martindale wants to strengthen, and he has players who aren't committed (and let's face it not getting game time), you could probably pick a player up relatively cheap.
  5. Combe - between him and Marsh. Felt Combe had insane handling and was better shot stopper. O'Donnell - better going forward than McPherson and with exception of Canero it's been a problem position for 30+ years. McGowen - big man was as solid a defender as you'll find. Scored goals, loved to defend and could play a bit too. Dindeleux - oh la la. Oozed class. Wasn't quite but could read a game like no one else. Taylor - Hay rightly is a legend, but Taylor was a far better defender than him. Mitchell - guy would run through concrete for the team. Two footed. Scored goals. Assists. Crosses. One of my all time favourite players. Durrant - before eremenko there was Durrant. He carried the team as captain and as playmaker for years. Eremenko - best player you'll likely ever see wear blue and white stripes if you're an 80's child. McLaren - similar to Mitchell. Two footed, Scored goals and created. Could play in a number of forward areas. Boyd - goals goals goals. One of the best natural finishers Scotland have ever produced. Wright - every season he saved us from relegation scoring 15 plus goals to keep us out the drop zone. Also the man responsible for the cup win 🏆
  6. Expect it to go into overdrive after the Dundee game then with out visit to Greyskull. Would be nice if DM was asked directly and could shut it down by saying there's no chance he's going for any of the ridiculous fees quoted.
  7. To be fair, when you're 5 undefeated, you are probably not rushing to change much in what you're doing. Injuries have held up over the course and perhaps the only game he might have featured earlier was the Livi one. Then again had he came on, his injury flared up again, we'd have a thread dedicated to him on kickbacks with everyone saying it was foolish on the managers part, he was rushed in too early and the physio doesn't know what he's doing.
  8. Pie in the sky stuff to suggest Armstrong would be going for 600k or that we were foolish enough to insert a fee that low in his new contract. Jesus, if you're getting your information from a Rangers fan site and Agent Scotland on twitter then there's little hope foe you.
  9. I've said since last season that Anderson is a player we should be looking at. A real pest, handful for defenders and a decent age. I'd be delighted if we made a move for him. Again it could be another decent bit of business. He reminds me of Brophy a little... remember him? How the mighty have fallen!!

    Keeper

Great save to keep it at 2-1 but really felt he should have done better with their goal. Seemed to go through his hands. He's been steady and if he was to be kept permanently I'd not be disappointed.
  11. When we talk about value on the park and we discuss Mayo, Watson and Armstrong, I think Lyons gets missed as potentially a player with sell on value especially now he's an internationalist. Yes it won't be to the value of those previously mentioned but you'd not be selling Lyons for less than 500k IMHO
  12. I like Wright, and I'm delighted he signed a contract extension. But our poor results coincided with him being in the starting lineup and Deas dropping out. He offers more offensively in the opposition box ar corners and organises things well but Deas seems more suited to the pace of the league. The current back five are really top tier and having guys like Wright struggling to get into the team shows how good recruitment at Central defence has been this season.

    Keeper

I think Dennis has been fairly solid too. Hemmings seems to have settled a bit in Paisley also but looked dreadful in top flight with us. I'd have no issues if Dennis was our keeper rather than some young loan player. Still would have preferred Walker in goals this year and I think we'd maybe be a few points better off if he was here.
  14. Issue I had this time was more about getting ducks in a row for Christmas and seeing if Josh was off for Christmas etc. Everything was kind of last minute due to his shifts being a week in advance so not quite as clear cut as just getting them. Either way calling the shop like it said just rang out and you're trying to do it at work and it was all a bit of a mess. It's done now and can't be helped. But if anything changes with folk please let me know... I'll arrange a meet and greet with Josh "Mon the Killie" Taylor 😄
  15. As I'm not local I've not managed to grab two tickets for me and young josh. If anyone can't manage and has two tickets for sale please PM me and I can transfer cash etc. Gutted to be missing this.
  16. We do. But I will go out in a limb here and say with the exception of goalkeepers not one current Killie player would make the starting 11 of the 2003/04 season.
  17. Some amount of absolute moon howlers on here. He's trained this week. He was getting a three minute cameo at the end of a game destined to finish 0-0 which was probably played at the same intensity as training matches this week. Now he was "rushed back". He's a player with more injuries so far than folk have their entire career. If he came back in February there was a chance he would have injured himself again. Give your heads a wobble if you think manager, player and medical staff decided to rush him back for three minutes away at Livi.
  18. They did mention they received some money from the club due to Covid 19 but it wasn't a regular funding stream. Yeah he's my boy. He's a wee arse but at times he does surprise me with these little moments of kindness... definitely from his maw!!
  19. The money he donated was from the just giving page set up to buy him beers in Spain. He didn't think he deserved it for being passionate and wanted to donate it back to the Killie charity. We went down the other day to get his pic taken and the guys gave us a wee mini tour of the stadium and told us about the work they do and how important the funds will be for Christmas. There was a prostate cancer group on, post natal groups and a host of other groups (8 in total IIRC) including one for youths who perhaps come from poorer backgrounds. Really amazing what they do there and I didn't fully appreciate the work or commitment from those who organise it all. One thing that surprised me was fact they receive no funding at all from the club which although a benefit of being self sufficient means they really do rely on folks generosity with gifts or funds. Really quite a remarkable group of people and well worth donating to.
  20. Stonewaller. Thought it at time. Couldn't believe no players shouted for it.
  21. Deals like this for Watson and paying fees for folk like Mayo for three year deals is the type of thing we should be doing as a club to start making income. McInnes spoke about getting value on the park. We now have several players who could fetch seven figures plus in the first team.
