  1. I'd be worried about the phrase "in due course"!
  2. The latter part of Saturday's match was a wasted opportunity to get another couple of goals, which could be crucial in the next couple of weeks. Twice Polworth was guilty of passing up the opportunity to shoot from close range. When the opportunity presents itself - you have to shoot. If you don't shoot you won't score. I like Polworth as a player - but his constant reluctance to shoot is a real frustration.
  3. I always said we should have kept Kieran O'Hara from last season. Had we done so, we would not have had any of the goalkeeping nightmare this season.
  4. He's been redundant for a few months! 😀
  5. I hope someone has carefully considered the wind load that will be on that board in a gale. There will huge pressure on that board in a gale and, if it is not mounted on adequate foundations, it will be blown over. Time will tell!
  6. My memory of those old strips was that they seemed to get stretched around the neck. I am sure the stripes were of uniform width but got somewhat distorted by wear.
  7. You've captured the issue perfectly @Apollo14. These were never just bricks. It's the emotional attachment that the Club has just not understood. It doesn't matter what a brick cost - the value and worth of all those memories is simply priceless. The times that everyone remembers can, in very many cases, never be re-enacted sadly. I really hope the Club has managed to come up with a replacement that is as good as it can possibly be. It will never truly replace the original bricks - but let's hope that it is a fitting new symbol of all the love and support that went into the originals.
  8. McCrorie was far from great and was never going to play ahead of Max. It seemed like a good move to send him out on loan at the time. Subsequent events with Max obviously made it look a bit more doubtful, with hindsight.
  9. Thank you for the update @mitch14. That doesn't sound good re both players. You would hope that Brannan would be a bit of a standout in League One.
  10. Nope - but don't worry, you are going to be delighted with it when all is revealed - apparently!
  11. I don't see how you could say from that interview that he is definitely away in the summer. He might be - or he might not be. All options are on the table and he is not going to get into it until the end of the season - seems fair enough to me.
  12. I can't remember the exact context of the Club's statement at the time - however, when Billy first thought of a training ground he may/must have had a much simpler idea in mind. There is no way the current facility was ever going to be built for £1.5 m, even back in 2022. I am sure BB will have made decisions on the scope and scale of the facility along the way, in full knowledge of the cost consequences.
  13. Do we actually know the cost has "sky-rocketed"? The £1.5 m that was originally stated on here would never have come close to anything more than covering the cost of the access road and parking areas. I would be astonished if BB has presided over a project that has increased in cost from £1.5 m to £7.5 m. Where did the figure of £1.5 m come from?
  14. I think it was typical Bobby Fleeting marketing spin. The two guys were built up to be the next big thing and, with all the positivity around the Club at that time, everyone bought in to the idea that we were potentially going to sign two superstars and were desperate to see what all the fuss was about. It was the same with the signing, from the dizzy heights of Winton Rovers, of Michael McArthur - hailed at the time as the future first black player to play for Scotland. I felt sorry for Michael at the time. The pressure on his shoulders to perform right from the start must have been huge.
  15. I think we should remove the word 'worry' from the title of this thread. The way David Watson has been playing, this season and most of last, I am not worried about where he may end up. I don't see why we should be any more worried about Watson than any of our other soon to be out-of-contract players - and I am not particularly worried about any of them either. Footballers are very largely mercenaries, not exclusively - with Rory being an notable example to the contrary - but if Watson or anyone else wishes to move on, then good luck to them. I am sure we will find perfectly adequate replacements. As I have said before, I think Watson would be well advised to sign a new contract with Killie and try to rediscover his form before thinking about a move elsewhere, possibly into oblivion. That is, of course, up to him and his Agent. Whatever will be will be.
