  1. And to be fair it certainly looks like DM timed Watson's arrival perfectly (or at least didn't introduce him too soon) it would be great if the same thing happened for Warnock tomorrow!
  2. Back to topic given that Lyons is suspended it's a pity Donnelly was so far off it last time because if he could be trusted to do the holding midfield job with Watson 'ratting' around him I could see a place for Warnock! Would take bravery and a conviction that Ross Co are there for the taking but maybe ......!
  3. Raith v Dunfermline ...... OK its a local Derby but the 4th one this season and we aren't out of November yet! I know it's down to vagaries of cup draws but surely that's too much to keep fans interested?
  4. Ross Co have become the new Accies of the league and I hope that they go the same way starting on Saturday.
  5. My first experience of it was the St. Johnstone home game last March. Enough said!
  6. The two away league wins last year at St Mirren and Dundee Utd. were easy! Two games where we started on the front foot and completely dominated virtually throughout. That set me wondering when the last time we nicked an away win in the league was? You know, solid performance, what we have we hold or even a scrappy win against the run of play? On further reflection we haven't managed that kind of win in any away game since Mc innes became manager. That's a dreadful statistic and it has to be largely on the manager and players mentality. If this was my job I'd be itching to put it right so please no, "Tough game .... New manager" rubbish after the break just go to Dingwall and get at them!
  7. And when you look at the performances of Scottish Clubs in Europe Steve Clarke's achievements with the international side appear every bit as remarkable as his time with us.
  8. We very rarely keep clean sheets away and struggle to score that's the recipe for what we get. We simply aren't good enough to defend for 90+ minutes! That said we were missing our best (only?) forward and arguably best midfield player and defender which would rip the guts out of most teams at our level. Playing Donnelly was an act of self harming though! I'd much sooner have kept the budget tbh. ditto Dallas! Must win in Dingwall because another performance like the last few (and the last ones up there too) and we can forget top six!
  9. Warnock ought to have got a few minutes .... I can't understand those last few subs?
  10. Maybe if we're mid table toward the end of the season with not much to lose or gain the better youngsters will get chances?
  11. Judgements on success are overwhelmingly based on how the men's first team is doing but it's hard to escape the feeling that the club as a whole is on an upswing. Good to see and yes Warnock deserves a first team opportunity!
  12. Re the AA photo/comment are these awards seen as a curse in Scotland like they are down here?
  13. Read a lot of this with interest and I wasn't there so my only contribution/observation would be we don't win 1-0 very often and could do to do it more!
  14. Can't understand changes of kit by both sides and to my eyes at least both goalie kits are too similar to the opposition.
  15. Power and Broadfoot were past it for us 3 or 4 years ago. Tonight they're showing it in championship! Sad really ...... a number of the other ex Killie now Morton players were never good enough!
  16. Very sad about this and though I didn't know him his enthusiasm for Killie as well as helpfulness to all shone through in all that he did. He helped me with a number of gaps in my Killie knowledge that were inevitable for exiles in the non Internet age. The lovely tributes that show this forum at its very best which is entirely fitting. Sincere condolences to his family and friends.
  17. I see the similarities between Vassell and Josh Magennis but I think Vassell's ball control is better and I'm absolutely certain that his finishing is superior.
  18. If wingers rarely or never take their fullback on all they have is the safe pass back to the fullback who also either plays it sideways or further back. You then have a dreadful possession based borefest. If the fullback crosses from deeper it's usually against a defence that's already set with the ball going in at an angle that favours the defenders. Either way, in short, your team turns into Chelsea! Those who criticise Danny should be careful what they wish for!
  19. The trick here is don't let them improve! Keep the initiative force them to keep whacking the ball forward in hasty clearances and then swallow up the long punts forward. We can be too passive when winning and getting another goal or two is the best way to ensure a win!
  20. Kilmarnock and Preston connection interests me as I was brought up there. Apparently the last time Preston won the FA Cup (1938 sadly) there were 7 or 8 Scots in the team and three were ex Killie. Nice to see the connection is alive and well!
  21. My recollection is that there were a lot of 0-3 down after half an hour especially away from home last season. Touch wood it hasn't happened yet this season but I'd like the first away league win asap before it becomes an issue.
  22. An important win. For me the best thing was that was a midfield available to us last year. Yes that much maligned midfield! With two good forwards in front of them and a sound defence behind them they can do a decent job and match most teams in our league. Minimum 4 points from next two games and suddenly after the first round of matches things will look a lot brighter.
