  1. Its starting to bug me reading about "those 7 players".

Those 7 players have played for 4 managers together as a team. They have performed regularly for 1 of those managers.

All it does is speak for Clarke more than the players. We are aiming for top 6 as fans anyway.

Out of the 7 players. Who gets in the Aberdeen/Hibs/Motherwell team? For me only Burke and Findlay. Possibly Power if he is at his best.

We'll sign some, as we can barely put out a starting 11 as it stands.

They'll just be s**te on current sales levels.

As people have said elsewhere. It's a total catch 22. We had a chance to build on 2019, and between the board, both managers across the season, and the players. Fans have been let down massively and have no reason to be excited about the coming season

The transfer rumours could go on for a wee while yet as it’s now officially confirmed that.......

request submitted by the Scottish FA to open the transfer window from today (Tuesday, 14 July) until midnight on Monday, 5 October has now been approved by FIFA.

I hope we mostly use this incase we lose players to down south during this time. We should still be pretty much prepared for the 1st game of the season imo.

If your thinking 1 has 15 mins on a park we would have been better not signing Taylor and using wage money elsewhere. We played with 3 in midfield most of last season how many different players played in those games 5 at most

And as I've posted previously. We were heading for relegation with those 3 midfielders. We need to if nothing else, give them competition

I have to agree with that pragmatism, much as I want to be positive.

I don't mean to be negative but it's the truth. Most of these players have played for 4 kilmarnock managers, and only been fantastic for 1 of them. They are all decent players on their day, but we need to see their day more often this season

Too soon to say. The only known quantity so far is McGowan.

The rest might turn out to be good, bad or indifferent.

The core of the team remains from last season - eight starters maybe. A bit of genuine quality on top of what we had would be good.

A core 8 that had us heading in the direction of relegation. We at least need competition for those. Both Power and Dicker knew last year they would play every week no matter what. Competition for places is healthy, at any level

Listening to him today, I don't think he would be interested in any offer from us as he is "looking to move to a bigger club than Kilmarnock" apparently. He also explained that he had made up his mind he wouldn't be signing again towards the end of the season we finished third.

Came across as a total w****r. When killie players leave I usually wish them the best. Not him.

Why would we let him go for nothing? They’ve got £250k for Nisbet. £50k For Thomas would be very helpful right now.

If we're not going to play him I'd imagine freeing up the wage would suit us well enough. I'd love 50k for him. Just can't see it

    Hibs confirm Wright and Nisbet

Looks like they're sticking to the Scottish based. Albeit Nesbit hasnt playing top level. All know the scottish game and physicality etc. I sometimes slightly worry about the English ones coming in and how long it takes them to get into the swing of the scottish game

Yes, if we get Bachmann then brilliant. I think a goalkeeper of his quality could make a massive difference to our season.

But, as you say, but ........

If it doesn’t come off we need to have at least a half decent contingency plan.

Think that is where his "needing 1 or 2 goalkeepers" comment comes from. Bachmann comes, we need one. If not we need 2.

Bachmann we know what we are getting. Would be great to have him

As much as i admire your choices here Craig i dont necessarily think Stewart and Mulumbu are a must neither is strikers or wingers.

The club should focus on signing some keepers and a back up centre half.

Score more than the other team. If either of these 2 become available we would be silly not to. Dont believe Mulumbu will be back but we could get Stewart I reckon

Our outfield first eleven is miles stronger than St Mirren at the moment. They've only got two defenders who aren't youth players and Obika is the only real option up front who isn't pish.

Motherwell got over a million pounds more than us from league position last season and will be playing in Europe. Comparison there is a bit thin.

Being pessimistic after the last few windows is understandable, but we're active for Bachmann, have players in on trial and did a good job with MacGowan. The time to panic is a long way off yet in this weird window.

I disagree on the panic stuff. 3 weeks on saturday is our first league game. I'm not panicking yet but it's not as you say a long way off.

Last seasons Sod definitely, Sod under Steve Clarke was phenomenal at times and that would be some going but hope you're correct.

Totally agree. SOD under Clarke was fantastic until he became a Scotland player. But McGowan will certainly be as good as last season's SOD.

    IMO obviously

Tbf I think we should be trying to get away from loan players making up a substantial percentage of our playing staff to the vast majority being “signed “ players . Having said that I’d take the batman back in a shot :)

I agree however with your 1st sentence , the constant regurgitation of some players in Scotland that haven’t shone at one club , and the expectation that a move to another will somehow uncover previously hidden talents is very unlikely imo .

I like the idea of getting away from loans, last seasons loans the best example mostly. But as mentioned before, loan players are the best I've seen for killie. Eremenko, Stewart, Mulumbu (I know we had him before a loan deal)

Personally I'm quite happy to see that

Joe Shaughnessy has rejected us. Never even knew we were interested.

Dont want to sound pessimistic or repetitive, but I'd imagine the surface would be part of that. Would expect us to be a better option that most clubs interested

We've already been linked with Whitehall and Williams too? We'll hear a very small percentage of what Dyer and Fowler are trying to do.

I guess we can agree to disagree. The only successful signing weve made in the last 2 windows that we never heard in the papers was Kabamba.

Hope you're right and we are all very happy by the time the season starts

Found this video for the guy mentioned at the bottom of that article, granted it’s hard to judge the level he was playing at here in comparison to ours but that seemed impressive. Looks very powerful and athletic, enjoys a tackle and was picking out passes equally comfortable with both feet. Good age as well when compared to Power and Dicker, signings like this could be the way forward.

Like the look of that video. Looks just the steamroller kind of midfielder we need.
