  1. Oakley played well on Monday but has done next to nothing on his other appearances.Whitehall also had one decent game and was given an extension done nothing of note since.IMO none of them will be here next season and it will be Lafferty ,A.N Other and one of the youngsters as the forwards.Kabamba started the season well and bullied the Septic centre backs earlier on in the season but has done very little since.Very much doubt he will get offered a new contract but you never know.I doubt very much Wright will be bringing in a full new team so some of the out of contract players will be offered terms
  2. The exclusive poll, by Savanta ComRes for The Scotsman, has support for Yes at its lowest level since just before the 2019 general election, which saw Boris Johnson’s Conservative party earn an overwhelming majority in Westminster. Should a second independence referendum be held tomorrow, just 42 per cent of voters would vote Yes, with 49 per cent of Scots backing No and a further 8 per cent undecided With don’t knows excluded, this would see No winning indyref2 with a similar margin to the original vote in 2014, with 54 per cent of the vote to Yes’s 46 per cent. The survey interviewed 1,001 Scottish adults aged 16 or over between April 23 and April 27. The poll is further bad news for a stuttering SNP election campaign that began with high hopes of an overall majority following the vote due to take a place a week today across Scotland. Nicola Sturgeon’s party is set to lose two seats when compared with 2016 and be four short of a majority, according to the survey, once the results are projected into seats. Such a result would be an overwhelming victory over the SNP’s main rivals the Scottish Conservatives and Scottish Labour and would likely deliver a pro-independence majority with support from the Scottish Greens. However, this poll is another that indicates dropping support in Scottish independence, with recent polls suggesting the question is now a dead heat between Yes and No. While the changes are within the margin of error, with Yes support dropping two points and No rising by two points, it is the worst polling for the independence movement since a YouGov poll on December 3, 2019. Following the election of Boris Johnson as Prime Minister in the general election a few days later from that poll, support for Yes reached a peak of 58 per cent during the pandemic. This is the fourth poll to put support for the union ahead of independence following the publication of surveys by Survation, YouGov and the previous Savanta ComRes poll for The Scotsman. Demands for a second independence referendum are likely to intensify regardless of these numbers, however, with pro-independence parties set for a controlling majority in Holyrood, the poll shows. While SNP support is lower in both the constituency vote, down one point to 45 per cent, and the regional list, down two points to 36 per cent, the party is still expected to be the dominant force in the Scottish Parliament with 61 seats – two down on its 2016 result. Douglas Ross’s Scottish Conservatives are down when compared to last week’s equivalent poll, but are still comfortably in second place ahead of Scottish Labour. The pro-union party is set to see 23 per cent of voters back them on the constituency list, down two points from the previous Savanta ComRes poll, with 22 per cent of voters backing the party on the list, down one point. Such a result would see Mr Ross sent to Holyrood as leader with a total of 28 MSPs, down three from their result of 31 under Ruth Davidson. Scottish Labour are the most improved party in the constituency vote, with 23 per cent of voters saying they would back the party, up three points from the previous poll. This, alongside a higher regional list voting intention of 19 per cent, up two points, would see new leader Anas Sarwar returned to Holyrood with 24 MSPs – exactly the same number as in 2016. His party’s rise in the poll could be a reflection of the new leader’s encouraging approval ratings, with the Glasgow MSP the second most popular party leader with a net favourability rating of +9, below Ms Sturgeon on +16, but well ahead of main rival Mr Ross on -15. Should the result after May 6 match this poll, the Scottish Greens will see their record result at any Holyrood election with 10 per cent of the regional list vote, up three points from the last Savanta ComRes poll. Such a result would see the party return 11 MSPs, up from the six elected in 2016. It would also be enough for a clear pro-independence majority in Holyrood, though would fall short of a two-thirds ‘super-majority’ of 86 MSPs. Support for Alex Salmond’s Alba party is at just 2 per cent of the regional list, up one point, with the former first minister failing to be elected back to the Scottish Parliament. The Scottish Liberal Democrats are set to re-elect five MSPs, with 7 per cent of the constituency vote (up one point) and 5 per cent of the regional list vote (no change). Chris Hopkins, associate director at Savanta ComRes said the trend in the polls were clear and could show the unionist parties had successfully appealed to their core voters. He said: “The direction of travel has been clear in the last few polls, with support for both independence and the SNP dropping ahead of the May elections. What this is down to remains unclear. "The SNP’s appeared to ride negative headlines in the early part of the year, so it’s unlikely that the party itself has just gotten more unpopular all of the sudden. "Instead, it seems that the two major unionist parties, the Conservatives and Labour, have somewhat – but by no means completely – got their act together, and are at least doing a better job now at retaining their core vote, rather than leaking it to Yes and the SNP. "This, coupled with a potentially more fragmented pro-independence List vote, more so from the Greens than from the ever-unpopular Alex Salmond’s Alba Party, means the SNP may fall short of their majority and not give Nicola Sturgeon the unequivocal mandate for a second independence vote.” https://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/worst-polling-for-yes-since-2019-as-snp-support-continues-to-drop-poll-shows-3218102 No change then from the last referendum and no majority for the SNP if the latest poll is to be believed
  3. Play it in England ,Northern Ireland or Wales.I am sure some of them would be willing to take it.I am sure if the bigot brothers were still in it they would be arranging to play it abroad.Probably in the. USA I would even expect Trump and Biden to be in the crowd at opposite ends
  4. We started the season with an English loan keeper as 1st choice and Rodgers as back up.The1st choice gets injured 1st game ( after another blunder ) we were left with our back up as No 1 .Doyle was signed as an emergency and Rodgers has a few blunders not least carrying the ball over the line.Couldn't make a keeper out of the 2 of them put together.Think the management knew that but couldn’t get a hold of anything better on our budget.Plus the fact other SPL. teams were reluctant to let any of there’s go on loan. Just look at the problem Septic have had with keepers.Priority signings next season
  5. The blame lies purely at Doyle’s door, absolutely pathetic performance from a professional goalkeeper.
  6. Well that’s that then.Keeper cost us the tie.
  7. Doyle again worse than a man down
  8. Keeping up with his rival in gifting St Mirren a goal.
  9. Is he or isn’t he? If social media is to be believed he is injured. No official source but plenty claiming to be in the know
  10. Cornish fishermen like the rest of them expected to have there pie and eat it.No EU boats and being able to sell there product to the EU without any barriers. That what they thought they would be getting.Like almost all commercial fishermen if there were no quotas imposed they would fish a species to near extinction and have done in the past.No sympathy whatsoever
  11. Allowing fans to attend the Euros though but you have to ask yourself why not the Scottish cup final if played at Ibrox/ Parkhead.Threat of taking them some where else maybe ?
  12. Bo Jo got that covered ,take a pill Prime Minister Boris Johnson today said Britons must not “delude” themselves at the likelihood of a third Covid wave “at some stage this year.” In a Downing Street press conference today, Mr Johnson said the “majority of science opinion” believed there would be a third wave in 2021 - adding Britons must prepare themselves for it and “learn to live” with Covid. However, he also announced a new “Antivirals Taskforce” to help work on new medicines for the treatment of Covid-19, including take-at-home drugs. He said: “As we look at what is happening in other countries, with cases now at record numbers around the world, we cannot delude ourselves that Covid has gone away. “There is nothing in the data now which makes me think we are going to have to deviate from the roadmap we have set out. “But the majority of science opinion is still that there will be another wave of Covid at some stage this year. We must learn to live with this disease.” The Prime Minister said the taskforce would give confidence to people that the country could “continue on our path towards freedom”. He said: “The success of our vaccination programme has demonstrated what the UK can achieve when we bring together our brightest minds. “Our new Antivirals Taskforce will seek to develop innovative treatments you can take at home to stop Covid-19 in its tracks. “These could provide another vital defence against any future increase in infections and save more lives.” Mr Johnson continued: “This means for example that if you test positive for the virus that there might be a tablet you could take at home to stop the virus in its tracks and significantly reduce the chance of infection turning into more serious disease. It is hoped that antivirals could help to reduce infections and limit the impact of any new variants. They may also help to protect people who cannot take vaccines or those who are not fully protected after having the jab. Officials hope to find and bring two treatments online this year. Sir Patrick Vallance, Government Chief Scientific Adviser, also said tablet antivirals would be “another key tool for the response” against the virus. “They could help protect those not protected by or ineligible for vaccines,” he said in a statement, adding that the Taskforce will ensure the most promising antivirals will be deployed as quickly as possible. “They could also be another layer of defence in the face of new variants of concern.” Mr Johnson said there was nothing in the current data to suggest that they could not proceed with the the next stage of unlocking under the road map as planned. It comes as the UK recorded 33 deaths within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Tuesday, bringing the UK total to 127,307. The Government also said that, as of 9am on Tuesday, there had been a further 2,524 lab-confirmed cases in the UK. It brings the total to 4,393,307. For the first time since September the latest figures showed fewer than 2,000 Covid-19 patients are currently in hospital. There are currently several new variants in the UK that are creating concern to scientists especially as it means people who have been vaccinated or previously infected could catch the new strain again. It comes as India was placed on the travel red list due to concerns about a new variant found in the country. Boris Johnson said that India being placed on the travel red list was on a “purely precautionary basis” amid the variant first discovered there, which is under investigation by UK experts. “What we’re seeing in India is a result of a variant under investigation, it hasn’t yet been deemed a variant of concern – I think that was why there has been the delay,” the Prime Minister told a Downing Street press conference. “I think what the JBC (Joint Biosecurity Centre) has decided is on a purely precautionary basis it’s necessary now to put India on the red list. “I want to stress that even before that we have measures in place for everybody coming from India that are very, very tough indeed.” Meanwhile Dr Nikita Kanani, medical director of primary care for NHS England, said that coronavirus vaccine uptake among ethnic minorities has improved since the launch of the NHS action plan. “Since we set out our plan in February, uptake from all ethnic minority backgrounds has tripled, outpacing the national average, across all ethnicities,” she told a Downing Street press conference. “Take-up among people from a Pakistani background is more than four times higher than it was in February and a five-fold increase in people taking up the vaccine from a Bangladeshi background.” She said the progress was a “direct result” of action by NHS teams, work by community and faith leaders and high-profile backing from stars such as comedian Lenny Henry. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/boris-johnson-third-wave-covid-downing-street-press-conference-b930762.html
  13. Britain said on Sunday it was sending more than 600 medical devices including oxygen concentrators and ventilators to India to help the country as it struggles to cope with a surge in coronavirus cases. The equipment comes from Britain's surplus stock and the first shipment was due to arrive in New Delhi early on Tuesday, the British foreign ministry said. "We stand side by side with India as a friend and partner during what is a deeply concerning time in the fight against COVID-19," British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said. "We will continue to work closely with the Indian government during this difficult time and I'm determined to make sure that the UK does everything it can to support the international community in the global fight against pandemic." The United States said on Saturday it would send additional support to India. https://www.reuters.com/world/india/uk-ship-ventilators-other-devices-covid-ravaged-india-2021-04-25/ On there way
  14. Master stroke all the same.Gambled on an odds on shot if you ask me.You can’t stop a global pandemic with just hiding away from it.A vaccine is the only cure not staying locked up
  15. The man could free child killers and still win an election. He got Brexit done and the general public were sick to the back teeth of it.That plus he seems to have won the Covid war even though he had the highest death count per head in Europe .It looks like the UK will be one of the 1st country’s to return to nearly normal life and that’s what matters to most people. His buying up of vaccines was a master stroke.
  16. Big clear out predicted at Hearts.Naismith not a regular starter would we take him here? Plastic pitch probably would go against us
  17. Has Broadfoot not got another year left on his contract ? Time we lowered the age of the squad any way.I think the manager did a similar job at St Johnstone and lowered the average age to 22.
  18. The present cabinet has 2 members with direct links to India one who was born there and another who’s parents were .She also likes to do a bit of part time espionage for one of India’s allies in there fight against Muslim terror.I would expect them to be putting India at the forefront.India is the world biggest manufacturer of the Covid vaccine and I believe have stopped all exports.Bit late though.
  19. Token Brexit audience member .The panel most weeks is completely remainers or on the odd occasion a token Brexiteer. The snowflakes do some amount of moaning if one of them is on so the Beeb take the easy way out and Mitchell was rambling about Scottish politics not Brexit.Brain dead in the audience every week just like Jeremy Kyle it attracts people who want there 5mins of fame.
  20. There is a difference between merge and join.Thats what the super league was about invites to join only. The infirm will never get an invite to join the EPL they can apply but they won’t get invited.Sky now have rivals in the football broadcasting business and won’t be the only game in town.
  21. The Old Firm won’t be playing in England any time soon, for a start uefa have made it clear clubs can’t join leagues in other countries. As for the hooligan element that would be nipped in the bud with a large police presence from the border onwards and an alcohol ban were ever they went. The novelty would soon wear off plus there isn’t as many local infirm fans down there as up here. They also wouldn’t be big fish in a small pond down there and clubs wouldn’t be frightened to stand up to them in case there fans threaten to boycott them.Never going to happen though the last time there was a vote on it it was a record defeat for the two 22-0
  22. Can’t see any of the 3 other strikers being offered any sort of deal .Frees some money for a decent back up to Lafferty plus there is always Cameron if he is offered a deal. There might be a few surprises in who is offered deals though and more to the point excepts
  23. India is one of the biggest manufacturers of the chemicals needed for the Covid vaccine and I am sure the UK and others will be supporting them every way possible.Plus the fact they are a favoured nation who have plenty of support in the present government. How much support do you think there neighbours China will be giving them ?
  24. Must have broke there hearts when out won the EU referendum then.Still the panel is full of remainers. So it’s not just Nationalists that they are biased against but that doesn’t suit the agenda to some on here.
