  1. It feels like a very pre-Clarke move. Would have expected it from AJ, GL, etc but not from SSC. Didn’t think he’d go trawling the back catalogue
  2. I can’t see that he is going to be the answer but I’d be more than happy to be wrong.
  3. If it’s taken us this long in the window to come up with Robbie Muirhead I can’t help but feel a bit of an anti-climax.
  4. I’d like to see a bit more power in the team. Someone with a physical presence that can offer a direct running threat and mix it up with big centre backs. A Magennis type.
  5. I’d love to see us bring in a couple of players as much as anyone but take a step back for a moment. It’s the first year for a very long time we’ve not had to completely rebuild the entire squad. Not only that - we’ve retained the core of a squad that achieved an unprecedented run of success last season. Naturally I’m an extremely impatient person but even I’m willing to wait to see what SSC can pull out the bag. Maybe that will be another free agent signing of Mulumbu’s quality but not until the end of September or later. If it was, it’d be worth the wait. Keep the faith.
  6. They’ve exploited our weaknesses well. Morelos has been terrorising Boyd and they’ve overrun us a bit in midfield. If it wasn’t before the game it’s crystal clear we need a few more.
  7. That fair made me chuckle!
  8. We’ve not played too badly but Scott Boyd is really struggling. Jamie Mac would have saved that 2nd goal I think
  9. The squad list doesn’t exactly look very official. Think Tino typed it up on his Amstrad, popped it onto a floppy disk then went down the library to run off a few copies...
  10. Maybe he had a release clause for any offer over £250k?
  11. Hope SSC has a replacement lined up - we need some reinforcements.
  12. Boydy did it. Went abroad - tolerated it for as long as possible and made a fortune. I imagine Lee has asked his advice and I’d be surprised if Boydy wasn’t frank about how big an opportunity it is to set himself up for life.
  13. I’d raise you a very large, very immobile, very much at the end of his career Stevie Fulton playing left wing back. JJ would do anything to shoe horn him into the team.
  14. Don’t forget Gary L’s Hearts rejects. Dale Carrick and Kevin McHattie.
  15. Gary Tallon had an unbelievably round head. My nickname for him was Malcolm Meatballhead
  16. Danny Crainie was the first name to spring to mind. One screamer does not compensate for constant woeful displays
  17. Kiltie is on his way back from two very nasty injuries. That doesn’t happen overnight. He’s played a few League Cup games this season. Not a very long timeframe to let him get back up to full speed. Throughout the entire time the club has stuck by him and he has stuck by the club too. They’re clearly both thinking on a more long-term basis than those who write him off already. Remember the lesson from last season. Never write a player off too soon!
  18. My personal most bizarre moments were getting shown round the ground as a kid by Jim McSherry. We got into the dressing room and there were a few guys in getting changed. I got introduced to Ally Mitchell who was standing in the buff! He shook my hand and we had a short, awkward conversation. Well, awkward for me - he didn’t seem at all bothered! The other one was during the pitch invasion after the Falkirk game to stay up. I was heading back to the East Stand and bumped into my mum! Never a person I thought I’d see taking part in a pitch invasion!
  19. Meldrum pretty much throwing the ball in the net for what should have been a routine catch against Rangers at Ibrox. Think it might have been first game of the season.
  20. Yeah Sheffield Utd sounds right. Remember they played in red.
  21. The Ghanaians stopped Rangers getting a work permit for someone they were trying to sign did they not?
