  1. Agree with the above comments regarding a member login facility on the website, and making it more 'professional'. KTV is a simple comparison, where there is a public website, a free registration and login for some content, and additional content for paid services. If there was a way to register for free, to have a username and access some content, that would possibly encourage interest. And more importantly, would create a database, for publicity, recruitment drives, etc. Data and contact details are king in these situations. And within the website, also have pages that are available to subscribed members. Relating back to my previous post, a simpler and perhaps combined and tiered system of ‘membership’ would be easier to follow. From free registered, to Trust £10 annual membership, to the multiple tiers of TiK subscription. That would allow a member login, as suggested above, and an ‘account’ page which could include date joined, username/membership number, current level of membership, when that is due to expire, etc.
  2. Jim, this is very worthwhile thread. And a glimpse of positivity when there’s such a sense doom and gloom at present. This’ll sound daft to anyone who’s involved in the Trust so forgive the questions, but I’ve never really grasped its exact role and how it connects to the club. My understanding is that, as a company in its own right, the Trust seeks to represent fans at a club board level, and therefore influence club matters. And as fans join the Trust, that boosts its revenue, and therefore its ability to invest and have influence in the club. But then there’s Trust in Killie, which is different to (but an initiative of?) the Killie Trust. Maybe not helped by having such similar names. As I understand it, TiK raises money to specifically lead on projects. But I don’t understand why that has to exist separately – i.e. why can’t there be one ‘Trust’ body that has a presence on the club board, and also funds projects. And some TiK money is used to buy shares? Are those shares for TiK specifically, or for the Killie Trust? Then there’s different buy-in options. Pay to join the Trust, at a fixed rate. Or subscribe to TiK (but with different options?). Or both. It blows my mind. And I guess there’s a bigger question of ‘why’, which is the basis of your thread. Like many fans, I’ve got a season ticket, and I’ll purchase again next year. I probably spend a few hundred pounds every year on merchandise. But money isn’t endless, so the question is therefore: if there’s a choice, why would a fan spend less at the club directly, in order to use that same money to join or subscribe to one of the Trust entities? In simple terms, how does it benefit the club if for example I don’t buy a calendar and use that same money to join the Trust instead? Thanks very much.
  3. It's all about context, in terms of how meaningful the game was and also how recent it is. Inverness Thistle was a shocker, during a relatively poor season and era. QoS was the end of another poor season, and a terrible day, but not a 'pathetic result' in itself. Ayr in the cup in 1998, because of who it was, and the fact we were cup holders is hard to beat in terms of being a poor result. But even allowing for it still being so fresh in our minds, I don't think passage of time will ever soften the embarrassment and disaster of the Nomads game. Part time Welsh team, us on the back of the best season for 50+ years, into Europe and to represent our country in European competition, and particularly the fact that is was a home game after an away victory. The sheer opposites of emotion leaving the ground from one home game to the next. An almost unforgivable performance and result, but no better demonstration of football affecting emotions.
  4. Doing a return trip on Boxing Day from Inverness to Ibrox. At my in-laws and travelling without my usual group, so plan is to take an otherwise empty car. Just on the rare chance there's anyone up north who's needing or offering a lift. Even from Perth. Chance for someone to have a beer rather than driving.
  5. All sorted. Hire car through to Glasgow (with full insurance in case the window gets panned in!), and meeting Jim Wilson with my ticket. Many thanks for the offer. Just need a result now!
  6. Brilliant, I'll try that. Thanks very much for the suggestion, much appreciated.
  7. Looking for some help with a ticket for Ibrox. I'm in Orkney and by the time I made work arrangements could only get a flight into Edinburgh at 17.10 tomorrow. I'll get to Ibrox in plenty of time, but don't have a ticket. They won't do pay at the gate, and too late to get one posted. If I buy one at the shop over the phone, and someone was willing to collect it and meet me outside Ibrox, I'd be more than happy to pay for your ticket to cover your time. Would be ridiculous to be in Glasgow tomorrow night and miss the game. Cheers.
