  1. Of course we would take him back! Significant upgrade on anything we've got. We don't need badge kissers, need quality to get us out of the championship ASAP so it's certainly a yes from me!
  2. You'd think Lafferty was a club legend with some of the hyperbole on here. Tabloid trash fuelled by his agent. To paraphrase Piers Morgan I wouldn't believe Kyle Lafferty if he was reading the weather forecast. This is a fans forum. Would it be possible to give our club the benefit of the doubt here?
  3. Let's face it Admiral Nelson would be an upgrade on last season's pair. Pity Cerny's packed it in
  4. I'd check with Zorro. Oh wait...
  5. From his perspective surely he'd have a far better time roasting left backs in the championship every week than tracking back for a struggling premiership side or worse still not playing at all.
  6. We're obsessing over players who have now gone. We were never keeping Lafferty. If the others think they can do better elsewhere good luck to them. Kiltie needs a change, been drifting in and out the team for years. Can't think of any games he's grabbed by the scruff of the neck and dominated. Clarke didn't fancy him so that's good enough for me. His style of play doesn't fit that well into a team structure unless you are willing to give him a free role behind the front man - bit of a luxury player. Robinson on the other hand won games single handedly against big teams last season. And two Raith fans I know are gutted Armstrong's away. Onwards and upwards!
  7. This is what we thought we were getting when he came in. This is much more like it. He maybe was walking on eggshells trying to coax them over the line and now the gloves are off (apologies, seriously mixing the metaphors there.. )
  8. The silly season's started early this year - ticket allocations, Alessio, Dyer, Dicker - could we just look forward now instead of obsessing about the past which we can do f-all about anyway? Off to the potential signings thread now...
  9. By Boyd's standards I didn't think that was too bad an article. Some of the points are fair. Didn't read that as him having a go at Lafferty, more having a go at the fans for their treatment of Dicker and Broadfoot and I suppose if it was your mates and you had a newspaper column to defend them you'd do the same. This Alessio thing is ancient history. I was watching Gary Neville on Youtube the other night explaining everything that went wrong at Valencia incl.his inability to communicate properly with the players due to the language barrier. Got to the stage where he says he was embarrassed to go to training as everything had to be fed through an interpreter and took 10 times as long as a normal conversation. He said it must have been an absolute nightmare for the players. Reckon the whole fiasco was less to do with racism and dinosaurs refusing to embrace new methods and more to do with Alessio's inability to communicate properly and build a rapport with the team.
  10. A fair point Piffer but a distant memory!
  11. Can't imagine other clubs queuing up for them sadly. I'm going be controversial and speak up for Millen. He gets a hard time on here partly cause of his dad, partly because of stupid red cards and of course because his defending isn't great. But he's the best crosser of a ball at the club and what coaching has he actually received on the art of defending? O'Donnell can't defend for toffee but he got the Scotland gig. I think if Millen had a decent goalie behind him and a defence that knew what it was doing he would improve. He at least shows a bit of commitment and passion. What chance has he had with this lot especially with a captain and vice captain who crucify you for every mistake.
  12. Always a bright side. At least we don't need to lend our players to championship sides to get experience in the championship anymore!!
  13. Let's face it that was hardly a Colin McGlashan job. Now that was proper sad! We got exactly what we deserved and I for one am looking forward to seeing young hungry and preferably local players who actually want to play for this club again. Let the clearout begin!
  14. Another tactical masterclass from Wright. Absolute dinosaur. McPake completely outthought him over 2 games, well done Dundee
  15. Who played against us of course in the Anglo Scottish! Seem to remember it was all going so well until Frank Welsh was short with a pass back in extra time....
  16. Getting a decent goalie should be the first building block of any team. For those of my generation there was a reason why Cloughie splashed out on Shilton, the confidence having someone like that behind you just spreads through the whole team. Danny Bachmann had that impact on us. Ok we can't expect to get a guy of that standard but teams like Livi and St Mirren have had good keepers recently so where were we? I don't like being too critical of our guys as it's a tough enough job without all of us wading in with opinions on how useless they are, but I agree the goalkeeper recruitment has appeared lazy at best by people that appear not to appreciate just how vital it is to the team. Instead they get starstruck by a Crystsl Palace reserve who's hardly kicked a ball or identify a journeyman right back as the summer's no.1 transfer target? I mean really? Bachmann behind even that defence we're 12-15 points better off no problem.
  17. Just wanted to give a shout out to this guy. Like most on here was wholly unconvinced earlier in the season, had him down as another cheap non-league dross signing that we appear to specialise in, but he's put in a serious shift those last few weeks. Nothing flashy but gets on with the job, carries a goal threat, decent turn of pace and his crossing has improved as well. So credit where it's due, thanks Mitch ?
  18. This media fantasy about how good our squad is is an absolute joke. We're 11th cause we deserve to be
  19. Nullify Adam and we're sorted. Well done County, deserved to stay up after their recent performances
  20. Yeah think you're right. If only we still had the cryo chamber...
  21. Agree with this- actually think it's more likely Well beat County than us beating Accies the way things are going! Was Alexander not in the frame for us a few managers ago? Been impressed with him, fair turned them around (they'd just been beaten by us FFS) and doesn't give the impression senior players would give him the runaround...
  22. Ken T

    Dicker

If anyone knows what the plan actually is could they maybe let us know? Losing 3 goals at home to St Mirren reserves is quite an achievement even by our standards
  23. Without alcohol? Impressive Monty. Go on, give us the alcohol fuelled version in 3 hours!
  24. I don't think it's out of order to question Tommy Wright's decisions and motivational impact. I'm not seeing the new manager bounce and I think we were entitled to expect more. I also don't expect a proven English Premier League midfielder to be left out for Gary Dicker or a goalkeeper well known for being accident prone - ask any Hearts fan - to be given the goalie's jersey until that calamitous performance in Monday. I also don't expect a competent manager to ignore sensible risk management and blow all his subs when there's still extra time remaining in a cup tie. But having said all that I don't think we'd have been in this predicament had he been offered the job in December when he clearly should have, everyone on here at least could see that it wasn't working!
  25. Aye right enough, that semi was v Dundee on a freezing December night at Hampden. Found this pic of Casper with the retro strip at the time he was sporting a Freddie Mercury tash!
