  1. Shows that MacDonald is committed to the club, which was doubted by some last year, and that Clarke has faith in him. Overall, good news for the club - at least we have one fit goalkeeper.
  2. There was an online survey not too long ago that was publicised on here. I suspect that the results from this were totally damning about how the game is governed in Scotland so they just buried them. I'm actually surprised they haven't released a statement saying that they are pleased O'Neill has turned down the job as he wasn't ready and it was too big for him anyway.
  3. From England u16s, u17s, u20s, the u20s world cup in Colombia, Leeds, Chelsea and a national trophy with Killie to, in the past few seasons, Bradford PA, Woking, Boston Utd, Gainsborough and Shaw Lane (whoever they are). That is a real fall from grace. I didn't think he would ever play for Chelsea but during his first spell with Killie I definitely thought he was good enough to have a career in the English Championship. Perhaps he was another like Sammon and Hamill who benefited enormously from playing in the same team as Eremenko. After having read The Nowhere Mean I came to the conclusion that it was more luck than anything with scouts and all they needed was one success and their reputation could live off it for years. Not an easy job, for very Jamie Vardy there are probably 10,000 others. I would love to know how we picked up Alan Power though - was he the recommendation of our Chief Scout (ex-ICT and Hibs) whom I think has now left?
  4. Regan and Doncaster are both so far out of their depth in their jobs that it beggars belief. They have presided over one debacle after another - the collapse of TV deals, getting screwed by Sky/BT, refereeing scandals, awarding Sevco a licence for Europe, their subsequent liquidation, failure after failure in terms of qualifying campaigns, the Hampden pitch, semi-final kick-off times, the infamous Project Brave and now the SFA can't even find a manager. How these guys are still employed and are picking up performance related bonuses is beyond me.
  5. That's a terrible stain to have on your managerial record! I'm more sure than ever that Mackay will be appointed. I don't think anyone who considers their career to still be on the way up would be interested.
  6. Bit of a shambles from the SFA as by all accounts they had a shortlist of one. I heard a fairly long time ago that Malky Mackay was to be the next manager and I put a wee bet on it. It didn't look likely for a while there but I'll bet the odds have been drastically shortened now.
  7. Will be happy enough if we win and can give Brora a patronising round of applause at the end of the match for their efforts. I think our fitness will tell and we will have too much quality for them. Would be nice to see a few goals going in though. I watched the brief highlights of their tie on Saturday and East Fife missed a load of chances.
  8. Both managers are arseholes to compensate for their lack of ability. SSC would never stoop as low as either of them.
  9. I doubt he has scored two goals in a single match since he was at Killie and had eremenko puttng them on a plate for him.
  10. I don't think clubs like Killie can afford to do much scouting these days. It looks like most of the signings are from contacts that the management team have or from proactive agents hawking their players round clubs. Sometimes they get lucky with a speculative punt as their player just happens to be in the position a club is looking to fill at a particular time. The reasons Scottish clubs are taking a punt on players from way down the league pyramid in England are a) they are cheap b) the standard of our game has fallen dramatically in the last 20 years or so. The SPFL is seen by most outside Scotland as a stepping stone to the English league.
  11. Aye , they shouldn't have been allowed to beat a big city club like Hibs in the LC final either. Absolutely shocking.
  12. Big increase on the gate for a similar game last year - and in that game we had half a team of new players to get all excited about
  13. Great draw, really looking forward to watching a different team play at RP and we should be in the Quarter Finals for the first time in a few years. Perfect.
  14. I'm not sure that's the spirit of togetherness and solidarity that was referred to in the earlier post
  15. Gardyne isn't a big goal scorer but created plenty chances for others - like Liam Boyce for example.
  16. Just as they got one over on Aberdeen by not taking their manager. Their ridiculous superiority complex starts at the top, their chairman is the Donald Trump of Scottish football.
  17. We are on a fantastic run. It's been years since we had a run of results like that. However, we haven't played well in the last two games. Any points we take from games v Dons and Celtic will be a bonus as they are very strong teams.
  18. You wouldn't get that kind of thing happening these days ... he would either give up after waiting 20 minutes in the queue or there would be sod all left like today.
  19. I can remember all the Killie keepers I have seen drop a real clanger like MacDonald did against Hibs recently but I can't ever remember McCullouch selling a goal like that. He was so consistently good. On the other hand, I don't think I ever remember Dubourdeau making a save. He's the worst I have seen by a long way.
  20. If Bell and McKay are both injured then perhaps a loan keeper might be a good move as we had an 18 year old on the bench today.
  21. I think you are a bit unfair on him. He gave a few of our full backs a right doing on many of his return visits, the 4-0 thumping being the pick of these. He's a very decent player
  22. Incredibly daft to schedule a whole set of midweek fixtures after a shutdown and a cup weekend where a number of replays are expected. Doesn't make any sense.
  23. If that was the extent of it then it was never a penalty. Maybe the TV pictures will give a clearer view. Still, it would be par for the course for Madden who got very little right all day.
  24. Power the best for his ability to win the ball and keep it. McKenzie a good second - put in a great shift, worked hard and got himself into the box for the penalty.
  25. Was one of the few bright spots in a poor team when he was here. There have were many worse and he always tried.
