  1. He’s had three separate injuries apparently.
  2. He must be getting fast-tracked. Only 21 senior matches and one previous Premiership.
  3. I agree regular European football should be an aspiration but I was querying whether this year was a year too soon in our development. Financially, we could do with some major injections to strengthen the squad medium to long term. Too many players are currently on short-term contracts or loans. The squad might be significantly weaker in July than at the end of August. But, if the number of places is reducing soon, it would be foolish not to take every chance of qualifying and progressing.
  4. Dale Carrick and Scott Robinson.
  5. I was thinking the other day that between Jefferies, Locke and Johnston we must have signed more than a team. MacDonald Locke, Barr, Bouzid, McHattie Fulton, Johnston, Quitongo McSwegan, Robinson, Carrick
  6. I watched the whole match and really enjoyed it. I never caught a glimpse of McInnes though because I never watch the punditry pish. It’s easy to avoid.
  7. To be honest, it’s a stretch to see five teams in the current Premiership which are worthy of European football. Four will be a more accurate representation until the quality is improved. The administrators of the Scottish game are unlikely to react as long as there are a couple of places for the OF. If we finish in the top five, it should be an embarrassment to whoever misses out out of Hibs and Aberdeen. Along with Hearts, they should be qualifying for European football every year but there’s usually at least one who misses out. It’s not that long since Hearts, Hibs and Rangers weren’t even in the Premiership. If the representation is being cut we may as well go for it. We can’t do any worse than some of the recent efforts.
  8. Forward running next week?
  9. The ex-Jambos central defence partnership of Darren Barr and Ismael Bouzid.
  10. I was looking at this the other day. It wasn't that much - 12,391 and 9,265.
  11. It would and it wouldn't. Being selfish, it would be great to have a jaunt or two, most likely to somewhere off the beaten track. At this stage in the club's development, it might be more than we could chew. I don't see us as being equipped at the moment to make any sort of impact. In a year's time we might be more ready. We're very reliant on loan signings, which are often made at the end of the transfer window. We would need to be ready to go at the end of July, and even then we might be bedding in half a new team.

People - including you - reacted to the following post and accepted that it was true. “The fact he did not warm up at half time suggests he was injured and someone knew.” If it was true it still leaves doubt as to the sequence of events.
  13. Have more than two shots on target?
  14. After five goals conceded in the last two games, the defence had better be on their mettle. And ready for high balls getting punted down the middle...
  15. Team was Combe, McDonald, Greer, Ford, Leven (Naismith), Invincibile, Locke (Lilley), Dodds (S. Murray), Johnston, Boyd, Nish
  16. 6-3. Alex Pursehouse seemed to suffer some sort of amnesia event, forgetting where he was, what a football was, who these other men were.
  17. Des Dickson's goals were scored in the 48th, 52nd and 60th minute so a total collapse after half-time. There was still half an hour left to put matters right but, as I remember, the team was so stunned that hardly any chances were created.
  18. Sounds like 21 October 1989 in Division Two. An OG by Montgomerie.
  19. It was definitely safety concerns over the stand roof which was the issue. The match at Tynecastle was the last played under the old board. The shareholders voted on 30 November to accept the offer by the Moffat & Chadwick consortium. We played Montrose at RP on 2 December. Burns was signed on 5 December and made his (abandoned) debut at Methil on 16 December.
  20. Scottish football would be better if it was more about football and less about this peripheral crap. The governing bodies are too acquiescent, unlike UEFA who don’t hesitate to impose fines, close stands and even grounds. It’s a bigger issue than just football’s but the authorities still wimp out of taking a stand where it is within their control. Clubs and their fans act with impunity.
  21. “Go on and just do what you do well!” 😂
  22. I think the enclosure roof was dangerous, having been partially blown off in a storm. On the subject of Berwick, after we were relegated in 1973 they won 3-2 at RP having already beaten us 4-1 at Shielfield. The booing that night that saw the end of Walter McCrae. Willie Fernie turned things around straight away and we went 16 or 17 unbeaten in the league and reached the League Cup semi-final.
  23. We lost 3-4. That was the game when started with Gary McDonald and Peter Leven(?) as the full backs.
