Dieter's Heeder Posted May 18, 2022 Report Posted May 18, 2022 Rugby Park favourite Alan Power is closing in on a return to Kilmarnock. Boss Derek McInnes is keen to bring the Irishman back to Ayrshire following the expiry of his contract at St Mirren. The 34-year-old is midfielder is on the verge of signing a one-year deal to rubber stamp a second stint at the club. Power previously had a successful five year stint at Kilmarnock where he helped them back into Europe under Steve Clarke. He only left Killie after they were relegated under Tommy Wright. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/alan-power-set-kilmarnock-return-27000956 -3 Quote

PrestersKtid Posted May 18, 2022 Report Posted May 18, 2022 Surely no. Played just about every game for the buddies but he’s 34 might as well have kept Mcginn -1 Quote

piffer Posted May 18, 2022 Report Posted May 18, 2022 I don’t see how he fits in to the midfield. Obviously he brings more bite and aggression. He’s not the anchor we are looking for, not the passer or the energetic box to box. Hope it goes well but very surprising. 1 Quote
Fletch Posted May 18, 2022 Report Posted May 18, 2022 Absolutely loved Alan Power, one of my favourite Kilmarnock players. He wasn't good in his last season here in a terrible side, looked well off the pace. If he comes back I'd be surprised if he is a regular starter, would love to get another season out of him at the top of his game but I can't really see it. 0 Quote

Almost every minute of every game too so his fitness and discipline seem okay. We need more youth and pace though with the likes of Taylor and Stokes in central defence. 0 Quote

I’d say on the ball it’s about equal. They both have that natural silkiness but power brings more than just that imo Edited May 18, 2022 by Mr Lyons Snr -1 Quote
mitch14 Posted May 18, 2022 Report Posted May 18, 2022 Not convinced by this. Trusted player as backup? 0 Quote
Bellman2010 Posted May 18, 2022 Author Report Posted May 18, 2022 He’ll bring at but more bite than McGinn, not overly enamoured at the prospect, but I’ll trust the managers judgement. Don’t think he’ll be much more than a squad player in any case. 1 Quote
Armstrong86 Posted May 18, 2022 Report Posted May 18, 2022 Everyone excited to see who McInnes brings in then this. -6 Quote
bgb02burns Posted May 18, 2022 Report Posted May 18, 2022 No thanks from me. Last season yes, next season no. -1 Quote
Popular Post capitalkillie Posted May 18, 2022 Popular Post Report Posted May 18, 2022 Think there are rose-tinted specs for McGinn who i thought struggled in many games in the championship. Power a better player imo. 14 Quote
Bonbon19 Posted May 18, 2022 Report Posted May 18, 2022 Slower than me and couldn’t wait to leave us last year . No thanks 1 Quote
CB Posted May 18, 2022 Report Posted May 18, 2022 Coach as well, maybe? What if Burke has asked for him to be his number 2 at an age range, or the women's team? 0 Quote
Gaffer Posted May 18, 2022 Report Posted May 18, 2022 Not for me, going back seldom works although obviously you get some examples where it does, like Kris Boyd and Kyle Lafferty. 0 Quote
