Are they taking the piss? Lyons, Alston, Shaw and Jones on the bench over Watson, Warnock and Wales?

if you can’t put youngsters on the bench at home to a side from three divisions below, when do you?

Yeah, very disappointing. There's not much chance any of those players you've mentioned will be at the club next season, so why miss the opportunity now to see what the younger boys can do, and perhaps give them a springboard into the match day squad for the rest of this season.

Thought Sanders would have started. He’s been enjoying a run of games and brought back to warm the bench. You have to keep these guys hungry.

Good to see McInroy start. I fear it’s at LB but hope it’s in midfield.

Bench is a worry. I don’t see a situation where we will use Doidge, Vassell and Shaw so why are all three there. Lyons isn’t posing a threat to the starters. Alston was an empty jersey the other night. There’s room for at least one youngster in there. I said it the other night we need to be forcing some out the door not giving them hope they have a future and encouraging them to keep taking the wage

Interesting debate on the radio there about Celtic doing the very same thing. General consensus, especially from Rory Loy, was that it's poor management if you give youngsters a place on the bench ahead of pros who work hard every week. The older players will be looking at these kind of games as a way to break back into the team and possibly make an impression for either moves away this January or to get back into the team.

Not saying I necessarily agree, but there's definitely more to it than just Derek disregarding the kids.

Thats fair enough if you have the squad you want but it seems we are actively trying to get rid of some of those on the bench.

Shaw despite his goals in the group stages and early efforts helping us make the cup final wasn’t deemed good enough for the bench in the last seven days. Has he put any more effort in this week than he did the weeks Wales was coming off the bench or starting before him or the times he’s not been stripped.

Wales is the one that I'm disappointed not to see. But looking at the bench, whether we think it's strong enough or not, quite a few of these guys might need to be relied upon later in the season.

Either way, getting through is all that matters with hopefully a goal or two for Laff.

We seem to have said something similar for past few years , it's disappointing even  more so for the younger players in squad ..likes of Jones and others had more than enough chances by now to prove something

Disappointing that they're not even on the bench.

How do they expect the young ones to hang about if they're not getting a chance. Then they cry when the English teams take them away. Come the summer Killie could lose 4 strikers.
