Andrew Dallas

He played against us for Boydie's testimonial. I remember it caused a bit of a stir as people thought it was the ref lining up for Rangers at first 😅

Kilmarnock Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Andy Dallas who joins on a season-long loan deal from Barnsley, pending SFA approval.

The 24-year-old forward will bolster Derek McInnes’ attack, bringing experience gathered on both sides of the border. The Glasgow-born striker came through the academy at Rangers, before impressing on loan spells with Stenhousemuir and Greenock Morton which secured a move to Cambridge United in 2019.

Dallas also enjoyed time at Weymouth, Solihull Moors and Chesterfield prior to earning a three-year contract with EFL League One side Barnsley earlier this Summer.

Everyone at the club would like to wish Andy a warm welcome to Rugby Park.

I've no idea if he'll be any good or not, but it's a really sad indictment of our league that we're resorting to loaning players from English league 1. I wonder how long it will be before we start getting loans from league 2.

Loans are a gamble tbh. We've had Loans from huge clubs that have done absolutely f**k all.

Do we reckon we are done then... Dallas doesn't seem a no 9. More of a Watkins type going by the Transfermarkt heat map and position data. 50 goals in 114 National league appearances is a decent return though.

We’re done.

Was he not mentioned earlier in the window

I feel like he was, probably before he signed for Barnsley. Not exactly expiring. Non league player with experience at Morton and Stenhousmuir. Sent on loan after a month at a league one club. He has clearly failed to impress.

A young guy with an excellent scoring rate at National League level who Barnsley signed ahead of a load of other League One clubs. Much rather be getting him in than Oli Shaw.

Also, not sure what some people were expecting at 2330 on deadline day other than a loan from England? Especially when Plans A through X fell through.

Happy with this one.

Aw f**king give it a rest honestly. You’ve been a bit selective with your facts there considering he has scored a barrel load since he was at Stenny and Morton when he was 18.

FWIW, I know a few Stenny fans, and they all thought he was absolutely class when he played there.

I certainly hope he isn't expiring any time soon! 😀

When he was 18/19. And he's featured in every Barnsley game since arriving there. They obviously decided to get him out when they got the deal for Cosgrove through.

We could have signed anyone though and you'd have found something to bitch and moan about.
