Any of the starters in defense (apart from Wright, points off for the daft booking that meant we had to disrupt things) or midfield could be a contender.

Went for Findlay because he was a brick wall and played some really clever balls forward for Kennedy in the first half.

Donnelly always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. It's an unsung role but so important, especially in games like tonight.

Edit to say, special mention to Jack Burroughs. Really good performance on his debut on a game like tonight.

Close call between Mayo and Donnelly.  Went Mayo. Watson energy needs to be used every week. No faults in entire back line.

Negatives ,

Front two need to be better. Kennedy was poor , for his standards. Keeper needs to come for cross balls

Brilliant to a man, first half especially.

Gone for Burroughs as I think to be thrown in on a night like this, trained once with the team maybe, probably don't know everyone's name yet. Very encouraging

If you'd asked me at HT I'd have expected Watson who was excellent in the first half but he just didn't show as much in the second half. So, Donnelly for another excellent showing in Europe.

Burroughs for me - excellent debut in those circumstances. Mayo superb as well.

Donnelly defo showing his worth as well. Excellent off the ball, great defensive instincts. I still think he's just a bit careless/panicky in possession and if he could iron that out he would be such a huge asset.

He gives the ball away considerably less than Lyons and Watson, but for some reason everyone focuses on Donnelly and his pass accuracy. I find it utterly bizarre at times. Lyons pass accuracy must be around 3%

Aye they do all give the ball away pretty regularly. It’s a big issue for us. Lyons would be the first one I’d drop out of those three to be honest.

It's infuriating at times. Then you have Polworth who keeps the ball well but hides in big games. I've felt we've needed a central midfielder still for some time or at very least Magennis back playing regularly.

Absolutely spot on. I think Donnelly, Watson and a fit and firing Magennis as a 3 turns us into a very, very good side. We can but hope
