Woodlands - Dumfries House Estate

Recommended Posts

During the week this is a training restaurant for The Princes Trust. At the weekend it opens to the public. It is NOT the trainees that cook or serve, they are not even there, but their chef instructor.

Now the Cumnock area is not blessed with many fine dining establishments but I'm glad to say that we now have one and at a price that won't require a bank loan. 2 course plus a drink for under £30.

Starters £6 - £9, Mains £14 - £20, Sweets £7

I had Halibut, followed by Garden Veg Risotto topped with a pigeon breast.

My wife had a Pork Medley, followed by Apple Mouse.

All delicious and most of the ingredients fresh from the estate.

10/10

Now i wondered if they did that after i had a wander round there and spotted the training kitchens.

Good to know as it's a cracking place to visit.

???? if you think I have anything to do with the running of Woodlands that you are grossly mistaken.  I live in Cumnock,  so eat out in Cumnock. This is head and shoulders above the rest on offer.
