If he's still scoring goals and in some sort of shape at the end of the year, then surely it's a given?

Whatever SC decides I'm sure will be the right decision.

That has helped Killie soar into the Premiership top six in an unbeaten six-game run.

Talks are at an advanced stage and it’s likely the ex-Scotland striker will put pen to paper next week.

He almost guarantees you goals. Name me another current spl player who does (outside twisted sisters )

Lafferty, Doolan, Stokes, Maclean, Rooney

Sorry none of them are anywhere near as prolific as Boydie.

Boydie's scored more goals for Killie than Lafferty has in his entire career!!!

I like Lafferty, although he's the classic big game player. Totally anonymous against us, totally imperious against Celtic. Must be an incredibly frustrating guy to play with.

You can see the same pattern with his consistency at international level.

With Boyd back scoring regularly, another year seems a good bit of business, not to mention what guys like Brophy, Cameron etc will learn off him.

I totally agree with you, but you asked who can guarantee you goals. All of those strikers get you atleast double figures a season in Scotland. Moult would of been mentioned if he hadn't left.

Id give boydy another deal aslong as he keeps up his work with the youngsters. Will make a huge difference to their development. Would be amazing feat if he gets to 20 goals this season

To be fair it's quite impressive that Boydie is still doing what he's doing at the top league in Scotland at 34. Just looked and McFadden has been released from queen's at the same age. Apart from Kenny Miller and Stephen Dobbie most most most attacking  players in Scotland are all but washed up at that age. Steven Thompson, Riordan, Gary  O'connor to name but a few.

Did Riordan and O'Connor even make it to 30 before they were washed up?

No they didn't.The difference being Boyd has something those two didn't...a desire to prove people wrong.

To be fair McFadden had at least 2 serious injuries in his career and definitely stopped him from getting that 50th scotland cap. Boydy and miller been lucky in that respect. Big man could play as long as he wants as he doesn’t need to do as much running as the rest. All about instinct and positioning for Boydy.

Miller is Finnish..........no chance he'll recover from that injury.

Well earned for the big man. Was slated, along with the rest of the team, at the start of the season but has come good and proved a lot of people wrong. Take a bow Boydy, you've earned it :hurrah:
