Best Killie Shirt Ever

Yes, I think that was the reason given but I think it’s still possible to have legible names and clear numbers without ruining the aesthetic of the strip. I’m sure I noticed some teams this season with near enough full stripes front and back Maybe Stoke or Sheff Weds?

Yep, I also remember the 91-93 matchwinner kit with yellow numbers on the back (maybe not all the time) which were amazing.

I think though these days that the numbers are "league issue", in that everyone in the league has to use the same 'font'.

I also seem to remember there was talk a long time ago of us having red or yellow numbers again in order to keep the full stripes, but they had to be ordered solely by Killie and the cost for such a small amount is prohibitive.....so its typically white or black

I'm sure Celtic can afford whatever colour they want to keep the hoops, and I do remember a season years ago when Rangers had red numbers on their home kit I think - only remember as I think it was the very season we were hoping for the same.

This is all memory though.....so ready to be proven wrong!

Rainbow kit was first worn 91 and as late at 96.

Home shirt was 91-93. Away was 92-94. Going by team photos.

Yep, of course - in the years where we changed home and away in alternate seasons....and you can tell by the club crest - last home kit with the 'old' badge

Loved it when the shirt told the world that i was A Plant.

Now that could have meant I was signifying that I was an A*r 5th columnist ‘planted’ to cause mayhem amongst the Killie support. Not plausible because this plant is clandestine.

leaving the confession that I was likes of an aubergine or a chrysanthemum or most likely cannabis sativa.

1998-99 kit was the first I had, but it’s the 2013-14 kit for me. Simple stripes, more white than blue, and IMO the only 1896 kit that will be remembered, the others are horrible.

I also really like the first two Nike kits, although the first was an off the peg shot.

Generally speaking I think blue stripe middle looks best to avoid the tram line effect.

White down the middle = 1964/65, good enough for me....

Yes sometimes white middle does work but you need definitely need the right number of stipes

This one deserves an honourable mention.

Last seasons kit is a future classic too.

Any pics of the 3rd kit worn in Korean Cup? Am I right in saying Gus played in goals, or was he our 2nd goalkeeper for the trip?

Lekovic (twice) and Geddes (once) played in Korea.

Gus was injured and didn’t travel, nor did Meldrum, Black, Lauchlan, Henry and Brown.

This report says that Lekovic met up with the party in Amsterdam.

That might have been the original plan but he flew from Podgorica via Belgrade and Frankfurt to Heathrow, where I escorted him to the rest of the group.

The direct flight to Seoul was his fourth of the day!

I'm a old bugger I know, but for me the best strip has to the title winning strip. So many memories of that year culminating at Tynecastle. Being told by police that team would not be coming back out only for them to come out for the fans. The rush back to Kilmarnock to welcome the team.

I can always say " I was there "

Standard colours are black, white, red and gold. Motherwell have a custom claret set this year.

Solid choices. When the 13-14 top was out at the time there was something about it I couldn’t take to. As I’ve got older I’ve come to realise it’s the best looking kit of recent times. I’ve been trying to source it for the last 3 years.

You've obviously all forgot how badly put together that shirt was.

Used it for going out running and it basically disintegrated in the end
